But the end of the chapter, where she sang for him, was bittersweet and beautiful.

O.o That was definitely a dramatic and action-packed opening scene; very the HK cinema! Hehehe...

I enjoyed the description of the night life - the gilt patina over the darker side that you can feel but can't really see - and the sudden burst of violent commotion.

It makes the story all the more realistic. My grandma still feels animosity towards Japanese people, which is a very sad thing, but with all that happened between them, I can't really blame her. Though Shanghai is just one of your fantastically written love stories, I admit, it hits very close to home! Lovely writings and descriptions as always!

This will definitely be a classic, dear! ^^ You made me so sad when I read about Jaken's son dying... And the gang war-! Oh my goodness, I was sitting on the edge of my seat, reading like I was watching an action-thrill movie! WONDERFUL descriptions, I can picture everything from the busy Shanghai activites to the dark alley scene where the songstress reappears! Beautiful writing, love!! Off to read the next one!

You never cease to amaze me, MissTeak. Your writing is as amazing as ever. It was like I could literally see the interaction between Sesshoumaru and the other men at the table; from their facial expressions to the slightly uneasy feeling for that brief moment to the boisterous laughter after the tension has passed and even the wispy smoke from the cigar. There was such an elegant to your writing that matched perfectly to the setting. It's truly breathtaking. Even the scene where the gunshots rang out made me jump like I was in the story as an innocent bystander scared out of my wits. lol.

Ohhhhhh. I SO want to see a picture of a wounded Sesshoumaru covering A-Lee's mouth and holding her against the wall while telling her to "Shhh." @___@;; That would be an amazing picture. lol.

Okay, so my guess is A-Lee screamed to get the attention of the Chinese men looking for Sesshoumaru, then pointed in the opposite direction and they all took off running after nothing. lol. Smart. xD
