While "Happily Ever After" may be more straightforward in plot compared to your other fics, as you mentioned, the progression is clear and the characters are well-layered and faceted. And that makes this story kind to the grey matter, but entertaining and engaging at the same time. There is mystery to keep us guessing, anticipating; there is fluff to set us squealing, and there is a little bit of tragedy to balance everything out.

After reading chapter eighteen, I figured that the shoe was on the other foot - Sesshoumaru being the illegitimate offspring instead of Inuyasha. I can't help imagining that Sesshoumaru's mum could have been a retired geisha, and his father her danna, like the old days. (But it may be the medication that's making me trippy).

Those stupid Nishimiyas! Sesshoumaru is to good to carry their name, the Nishimiyas should be thankful they have someone like him in their family! Just because Sesshoumaru is a illegitimate child, that serves them no right for them to hate on Sesshoumaru. He shouldn't be the one paying for his mothers mistake and maybe Sesshoumaru's mother felt bad for what she did :|

Overall i like the chapter, hopefully Kagome can stay strong when she meets the Nishimiyas! I'm kinda bummed that you probably won't be able to have any more chapters up for a few days but i understand, life interveins, but I'll be waiting for the next update:D

Well I definitely wasn't expecting that one...nice twist there. He's warming up to her so well and Kagome has all but given her heart to him. Where he has pain and hurt and anger, she will be his strength, his passion and his love.

He thinks she's pretty....awwwww!!! And why oh why, does Yasha always have to be such a baka?  Jeez, wait until Kagome finds out that she has a brother-in-law

It was as I thought, I figured you would turn the table on the whole legitimate son between Inuyshasa and Sesshomaru. I actually like this turn, and I can't wait for the confrontation between Kagome and the rest of Sesshomaru's family. It should be interesting no doubt, when it finally happens. I can't wait for the next chapter, I love getting to know more about Sesshomaru's past. I really want to know how his father treats him, if he actually cares at all or if he finds Sesshomaru to be a burden. I know Kagome is going to set them straight, now that Sesshomaru has become one of the people that she will always protect, althoguh her mouth will probably cause a bit of trouble. Can't wait for the next chapter!!

This is my first time reading this story since i really haven't had time to read much but i've came across it a few times and the drawings and such. I have to say this is a really great story, and i love how you describe the scenery so well and what the characters are feeling and such. I was really disappointed when i saw that i was at the end of your story but i can't wait until the next chapter.

update sooon but i would prefer longer chapters so if that will delay u a bit i would prefer that if possible. Just a request. Do what u feel is best. I'm enjoying your story alot.

K, Im just typing this review as I'm reading the chapter, so if certain things seems wack, you can blame it on that. I just love to write reviews as I read, its more raw, and I'm too excited to stop, lmao.

Can you say relieved? I'm so glad they are leaving. Not really cause I didn't like them, but as you know, I can't stand Hojo, lol. The other guys were nice enough, plus they weren't trying to steal Kagome away. When Kagome stopped Hojo, I went like, WTH is wrong with you girl, he is a jerk, just let him go, and never see him again. But then I remembered that Kagome wasn't like me, that girl has a big heart lol. I think it was mature of her to show she could be the better person. No she wasn't doing it to show off, she did it because she's older mentally, lol. And I can understand the uneasy feeling that's left behind when you left a fight without fixing it. It's bitter. So I can understand the need to clear things up, so she can move on faster to better things.

At least for the very first time, Hojo was quite smart. I'm glad, even if it's fake (I'm not saying it is, I'm saying I don't know if it is), that he put up and accepted Kagome's forgiveness, and her request of friendship. Honestly with everything he did, he should consider himself lucky that he got her friendship in the first place. Next time around, he better be more careful. Third chances dont' come around every day, though I have a feeling we will not see Hojo again, lol.

I really like Kagome just reading a book, by the pond, with the fish. I think like you explained, it shows her difference from when she lived in the big city. It also shows she cannot be stereotype. No matter where she is, she just adapts, because she is a calm loving person. She doesn't need much to be happy, and I also think Sesshomru realizes, and appreciates that. Kagome is not a money grabbing - w- person. Lmao.

I honestly thought it was Sesshomaru calling when the phone rang, but apparently I had the wrong brother! Lmao. Omg, Inuyasha, I never thought he would be in this story, but then again, we didn't know much about Sesshomaru's family up to now right? Gosh Inuyasha has such a foul mouth. Poor Kagome, no wonder the poor girl was frozen in place like that! And I hate what Inuyasha said about her, without knowing her. I know she will prove him different at that event, if her and Sesshomaru end up going that is.

I'm wondering if Inuyasha's going to have a crush on Kagome regardless of if he has Kikyo or not, because we know that never mattered to him, lol. Sesshomaru is so cute its just a fish. Honestly Fish One, Fish Two? Sometimes Sesshomaru just lacks imagination. BUT OMG, he made it up with the names! Now the title makes so much more sense, and it has to be the most adorable thing ever. Omg, Sesshomaru & Kagome the fishies.

I'm glad she told him about the phone call, and I'm happy he is apparently ready to share wit her. About time he opens up.

Oh sweet girl! I'm glad this is helping your writing's blog, though, I won't complain that you're not updating Wisteria, cause I'm as addicted to this current story than that one. I'm SO TORN.

I think the complicity between the two of them is really sweet. It's as if the scare, and the jealousy they experienced, was exactly what they needed to unblock their relationship~ They are not only acting as friends (which is like fina-freaking-lly) but they seem to slowly be taking it to a whole new level. Like not lovers yet, but you know, just a bit more. Maybe a beginning of a boyfriend/girlfriend thing. Though they are already married, I have a feeling the wife/husband relationship won't come yet.

Sesshomaru relaxing and joking around is quite a sight, and about time. He is so sweet and worried about her, it's as if he finally dropped some barriers he had put around himself. Yes, he still has them with other people, but not when it comes to Kagome, which is great. I'm glad he is trusting her a bit more now. I think he realized she is different, and do not mean any harm.

Honey, I almost died laughing at that underwear part. At first I'm just re-reading the first part over and over going, what the heck just happened? But then, I went, and read further, and I broke into a giggle fit. I have to give Sesshomaru kudos for being able to act so neutral as he was debating it with her, lmao. No wonder the poor boy was blushing afterwards. And Kagome washing his boxers *giggles* She will love it. Little liar.

I love all of Hojo's friends - except Hojo of course. They are nice, and at least they are not trying to put Sesshomaru down. Though I get this feeling they have begun to notice Hojo's horrible attitude. Hojo is a snake. I mean they way he says thing, it's horrible. I hate people who need to put others down to bring themselves up, its just disgusting. It's like giving a gift, and when you don't get something in return, asking for it back. (LMAO HINT!)

I'm so glad Kagome confronted Hojo again. And that a--- arrogant person, going did he hurt you again! I MEAN COME ON! Can't he realize she's happy. What, if she's not happy with Hojo himself, she's not allowed happiness? What a selfish man. I'm glad Kagome told him the truth, and blast it in his face. I think he needed a shower of reality to perhaps reflect on his past actions. But poor Kagome, it was so hard on her to be and act that way.

I love how Sesshomaru just came when she called for him. He's such a sweetheart. I like that he again realize what kind of hard situation she puts herself into because she wants to help him. It should show him how much she cares....
