I am moved to review lol There is just so much to say on this latest development because the general theme is relateable to both genders albeit more commonly to females.
A lot of women blame themselves for the actions of others due to social conditioning. We think we are being logical when we say someone mistreated us because we deserved it for the way we were in that moment or are as a person in general. Fearful, dependent, emotional, too trusting, needy etc. The truth is, courtesy and respect is default behavior. Its not something you earn unlike trust. Anyone treating you otherwise reflects their poor upbringing OR character shortcomings. Ofcource, no one is perfect but that does not mean you cannot civilly disagree and come to a mutual understanding that does not compromise principles. You get educated or worldly exposure to mature this way.
People who frequently get angry or are abusive (verbally, physically, emotionally) in relationships are actually refusing to
1. Work on their shortcomings
2. Address the actual issues bothering them in a level headed manner
3. Bring themselves out of a superiority/inferiority complex.
This is an indication of their unreliability as an individual. Run far away from a person who periodically exhibits these traits; lies, breaks their word, poor safekeeper, gets angry easily, verbally assaultive, a stingy miser.
The list is not meant to be exhaustive, im sure i missed some.
Logic is subjective.
You can know something but having an understanding of it or experiencing it are separate things. The lesson learned when you are hit hard is never forgotten.
Forgive yourself for not believing the signs the other person is blatantly displaying through their words and actions as to who they trully are. Everyone gets fooled sooner or later. Usually mutlitple times if you are living a long life.
As far as Sesshoumaru is concerned, Kagome will realise his only crime is in taking so long to approach her. Everything else was destiny and her choices, good or bad. A wise person may have trust issues because of past ordeals but they dont dole out resentment , certainly not where its not belonging or originating from in the first place.
To any person out there who has gone through hell, forgive yourself and strive towards moving forward. Ores go through a purification process for metal extraction.
To any person out there who has raged hell on other peoples lives and are reading this, seek forgiveness sincerely, move on choosing to be a better person by being a better version of you.

Oh man that was tough... Being beaten daily or telling yourself this is the lesser of two evils by having sex to wear him out is an instinct to protect the babe. Though life is never roses and diamonds we live how we can manage until the time when come close to breaking and leaving that life behind. Sometimes we find ourselves worthless that no one would want someone like ourselves. But to find a love so out of reach that could have saved the family she lost or kept her from being with the man who'd eventually kill her. I'd say it'll be a long day of regret for the both of them coming to terms and eventually loving each other and starting a new life. So one day her ex will cross her path again so he could try to beat her or expose Sesshomaru for what he is so he could ruin her marriage and life once again. Update soon can't wait to read more.

This story is written beautifully. You can feel both of their pain, especially in this chapter. I feel so horribly for both of them - Kagome for the family and child she lost, as well as her loneliness, and Sesshomaru for feeling like he is a coward and that he should have done more. They are exactly what each other needs, especially now. I know all to well the desire for a baby, after dealing with infertility for the last 6+ years. And while I have not experienced abuse or miscarriage, I feel Kagome's pain acutely here. I look forward to seeing how they mend and develop their relationship, and hopefully learn that their experiences will make them stronger together.

Phew! I am so happy that Kagome is safe and she had a good talk with her mother-in-law. I was half convinced that she would just run blindly in the snow and eventually get lost or hurt herself or something. Now she needs to have a talk with Sesshomaru too - maybe she will finally start healing then. Thank you so much for this lovely story!
