I guess no one pointed out to Takemaru that not all demons are cut from the same cloth,and to judge them all as killers to humans would be demons judging all humans as idiots.
Plus,counseling didn't exist in those days,too.You had to suck up your pain.
He needs someone to care for him,big time.
