Im reminded of other favourite fic, 'his milestones".
Its not a happy ending or a happy fic but its very well written and ive gone back and read it often. Writing this, im also reminded of resmiranda's house of moon.
Damned if you do, damned if you dont. The question which is very relevant to our life, take the opportunity presented and live the best or choose safe and miss out to protect urself ? Theres tragedy in whatever u choose.
Also, love sesshomarus potrayal in this fic. He is not limitless.

Backtracking.
He knows she will die and he will keep on living when she claims she knows the future. His sword fails him in reviving kagura and he is concerned it might fail him again if he needs to revive her.
The thing of beauty here is, they both know and still choose to grab the happiness when it presents. Its not an easy choice but its better than not experiencing it for both of them. Ahh the devil in the details.
Can u plz write something happy ? Lol or atleast a fic that has more happy moments that could help reader overcome the eventual ending sadness.

I dont feel this was a happy ending and uve left it open ended deliberately by sequencing this story in this manner giving the impression that its not a tragedy. Well played.
You have a grasp on this time travel thing unlike any ive ever read. Ive read all ur fics on this theme and i commend u for writing diff versions equally as good.
But abt this fic..
If she remembers him means the jewel never got destroyed by sesshoumaru in the first place. The whole reason she travelled back in time was because she had the jewel.
She is going to travel back to the past to do what she must not knowing her end but she suspects her death i think.
Future sesshoumaru knows what the end will be. Her sacrifice was in vain if she does go back to the past.
The question here which u avoided addressing is if the future sesshoumaru deliberately allowed her to go back in the past to fight naruku only to die.
Siince he remembers she died in his arms, his future self had to have allowed her to make that choice for herself.
Its almost like a realtime potrayal of the future and past inextricably linked. And uve chosen to side with the reality of 'nothing good lasts' which is why this makes the reader have such a visceral reaction.

I really dont understand how you write so simply but beautifully.
Every sentence evokes emotion. Its a rare skillset u have here.
Loved it !
Anna (Chapter 1) - Sat 07 Aug 2021
It was more bitter than sweet for me.. I'm on the brink of tears here.. Don't know what came up that I decided to read this while listening to a sad inuyasha instrumental playlist... The fact that Kagome is going to return to the past after seeing the present modern day sesshomaru and dying in the past Sesshoumaru's arms is heartbreaking.. It was beautifully written.. So.. That's it I guess.. I'm just gonna go cry in a corner.. Bye..
Ugh, you just write this pairing so beautifull! Thank you for your stories/oneshots etc... they make me feel so many things <3
Lauren (Chapter 1) - Sat 25 Aug 2018
Such a bittersweet one shot. But we know that the future has changed. Because the shrine that encloses the well was not there last time. So there is some hope...
Beautiful piece
LOVELY. this was a very good one shot. i'm glad you wrote it. keep up the great writing. c'ya'
Anna.D (Chapter 1) - Tue 08 Sep 2015
Such a lovely story. It played havoc on my heartstrings!
Wow this is so beautfiully written, heartbreakingly sad, but at the very end happy, everything came full circle. Again thank you for another wonderful story.
I would love to see more of this story PLEASE.
The simplicity of the writing is what makes it so sweet and wonderful, just perfect for a one-shot. Thank you for making the ending not a completely hopeless tragedy. At least, he got to hold her many more times before her time is due. That, or perhaps he would be adventurous enough to alter the past… and voila, happy ending!
What a sweet, erm, bittersweet piece. I love the simplicity of your chosen words, they emphazised their budding relationship so well. Great job as always!
One word : Beautiful. Im hoping for more but alas we can't always get what we wiah for.
Marie (Chapter 1) - Tue 17 Jun 2014
Absolutely wonderful. I was hoping you would write a happy one even if it is kinda sad. Happy/sad!. I take my hat off to you,
To use your last line, there are simply no words for this one-shot. I shall try though, because a one-shot like this deserves some words
It was beautiful, breathtaking, moving. The snippets in time, the fall, the winter, the spring, the summer, the fall, and the winter, they were wonderful. To see them progress from an accidental hold, to one on purpose, and then to see it taken from them. But I like how it ended on an upward note, though it still had a melancholly to it. He has found her again, can hold her again, but eventually she will have to return to the feudal era and eventually she will die, die in the arms of the past Sesshomaru. It's a vicious cycle really.
Thank you for sharing.
Sailor Moon new anime will premiere on July 5. This was lovely!
What Makes A Dad
God took the strength of a mountain, The majesty of a tree, The warmth of a summer run, The calm of a quiet sea, The generous soul of nature, The comforting arm of night, The wisdom of the ages, The power of the eagle's flight, The joy of a morning in spring, The faith of a mustard seed, The patience of eternity, The depth of a family need, Then God combined these qualities, When there was nothing more to add, He knew His masterpiece was complete, And so, He called it...Dad.
Happy Father's Day!
This was beautiful, Char. Short in words but brimming with emotions -- untold. XD
I love Sesshomaru's characterization here. It gives him an air of maturity without the cruel aspects of his personality. Indeed, it's unlike what I'm used to reading from you, but I very much loved it nonetheless. Kagome is so full of mischief! She flits around like a butterfly until she has him wrapped around her little finger. Bwahaha.
It was lovely and poignant, as sweet as it was bitter. :)
Thank you for participating in my challenge! The banneh is yours for the taking, rightfully so. XD
P.S. I, too, love that artwork!
