This was heart-wrenching; the angst began building from the first few sentences and intensified throughout the chapter to explode by the end. I commend you for coming up with this idea for a disease similar to AIDS for youkai. I admit I have an unhealthy obsession with angst and tragedy and this piece looks mighty promising in that area!
