hmm, sorta weird question i guess. i was wondering if it was allowed if we upload manga or doujinshi that we colored? i was also wondering if graphic manipulation followed the same guidelines? an example would be my signature. two different images that i blended and then i created everything else. of course there would be credit given.

Demonlordlover is the primary moderator and rule maker. I'm not sure how this fits into our rules. I'm sort of...tech support, I guess. I sent her an email and we should have an answer fairly soon.
Thank you for your patience!

no problem. i'm very patient. lol. besides, it's completely understandable. thanks for letting her know.
not sure if this matters but most of the colored images are either from the manga (with NO dialogue - they are really just spliced images put together or full pages) or from doujinshi that i have bought.

Thank you so much for asking for clarification. Photo manipulation isn't, strictly speaking, fanart. However, if it can serve a purpose (such as an icon or banner like your signature is) then that will be allowable. It must have something done to it. Change the color, splice it like you did, add a border, etc... Straight scans or plain screenshots are not allowed in the archives.
Also, even though it is implied to most since Takahashi's style is very distinct, a disclaimer must be included to help those who might be confused as to who is the source of the picture/screenshot.

completely understandable. i have an example of what i was talking about from a doujinshi. i wanted to make sure that something like this is allowed before posting. if it's not, i understand. ^^

Who made the doijinshi? If you have their permission to upload their work as a colored version, then that's fine. If it's someone like Takahashi (or a person way over in Japan or out of contact reach) go ahead and upload, but credit the original source of the doijunshi, linking if possible.
