I was 13 at Motel 6 flipping through channels, then I see a dude with white hair and red outfit. I was hook I stayed up all night, so i could see the reruns lol! The whole time I was there I would watch Inuyasha on Cartoon Network.
But I remember Pokemon if that's counts as anime, which came on after school.

For me it was Dragon Ball Z. When I was a kid, that show always came on Toonami right at our family's dinner time, and I remember my dad getting so annoyed because I would shovel down my food without even tasting it, just so I could bolt to the TV. I mean, THIS time, for sure, they would finally defeat Frieza, right?! (Lol, those DBZ battles went on forever...)
This was my first anime also (they did know how to drag out a fight, didn't they?)...though it was my cousins that had me watching out because they wanted me to let my son watch it. We both were hooked, followed Wiccan with much the same order of shows after that and ended up going to Otakon the following summer

My first anime was Inuyasha as well, I used to sneak out of bed to watch it because it came on late lol, I always got caught but my mom would let me finish the episode before sending me back to bed. After a while she just watched it with me, She thought Kouga was sexy lol!!!!!

Mine was sailor moon and my god, I was obsessed with it as a child, then a couple years later, that obsession became directed towards Inuyasha when I was in gr.4. Years later, Inuyasha is still my favourite and #1 anime :')

The first one I really remember was Sailor Moon. It used to come on before I left for school each morning. After than I believe it was Yu Yu Hakusho. Got my mom hooked on that (she loved Genkai). Im sure I watched some of the earlier anime that was on TV I had a brother that was 6 yrs older so I had to watch a lot of stuff I didn't really like. He-man and She-ra aren't anime (are they?)and those are the first shows I know we watched religiously.

Hm, the first anime I watched was Igano Kabamaru. I think that's what got me into anime and noodles. Lol Then there was Dragon Ball and Rurouni Kenshin. I watched Inuyasha many, many years later, actually, but it's very high on my list of favorite anime.

The first anime movie I saw was The Last Unicorn when I was 8. The first actual anime series I saw was Pretty Solider Sailormoon when I was 12.

Sailor Moon was my first in the 90's. I think Inuyasha was after that or Rurouni Kenshin.

I watched Speed Racer and AstroBoy as a kid not knowing they were actually Japanese originally. The first anime to really capture my attention was Record of Lodoss War and Vampire Hunter D. Gundam Wing was probably the first series I watched.

The daycare I was at as a kid always played Dragon Ball and Sailor Moon, but their giant eyes and heads scared me when I was little LOL.
I think the first anime I watched that I liked was InuYasha- the first episode I saw was when Rin and Sesshoumaru first meet, how could I not be hooked after that? I remember thinking it would be so fun to just walk around in the forest with someone as strange looking as that Next was Fruits Basket after reading the manga, then Samurai Champloo a while later. My time was mostly occupied with Avatar: the Last Airbender the moment it came out. I don't really classify it as anime, but think it deserves honorable mention. (Once you get me started on talking about that show, I won't stop).

Probably Sailor Moon, I think. I can't really remember now that clearly to be honest since there have been many since. My favourite so far being alot of the gorier and more adult anime like Vampire Hunter D, Ghost in the Shell, and Appleseed. I used to like the Sailor Moon-esque stuff but the big eyes wear on ya after a time, although I do like Ouran High and the Host club thing with Haruhi. It's hilariously funny without being overwhelmingly cheesy.
I've not watched many more anime other than a handful as where I live we're more often flooded with marvel toons or the kids' anime stuff like Beyblades or Beywheels or whatever they call it!
XD!

Slayers was my first anime, though Sailor Moon was shortly after that - I had actually watched several anime before I saw Inuyasha but it's certainly remained one of my favorites.

Alfred J. Kwak, if you'd count that as anime. It's about a little orphaned duck being raised by a mole. The story is written by a dutch man, it ran from 1989 through 91, so it's pretty much a staple for my generation of dutchies
Really-real anime would be DBZ. I avoided Pokémon when it came on here, trying to be hipster about it and not liking it because the masses did, hahaha. After that, InuYasha and when I got really serious, Azumanga Daioh. I still re-watch that about twice a year.
