She was running.

Her lungs burned with the effort of transporting oxygen to the rest of her body. Her legs screamed for a respite from the seemingly hours of torture she was putting them through.

But she couldn't stop. Not if she wanted to keep living. The shadows of the past surrounded her, shrieking her name, forcing her into the dark oblivion.

She was backed into a corner, and finally he appeared.

Kagome jack-knifed from her sleep, sweat dripping down her face, her eyes darting about her dark room.

"Get real, Kagome. Naraku’s been dead for more than five years.”
