To see what I see by Farein Silvear

Holding out on a Glimmer of hope

He was ignoring her again. The last thing that he had said to her over a text was ‘I hate humans.’ It was not something out of the norm but she felt in some way that it was her fault. Kagome shivered as a dark feeling crept up on her, and she brushed off the cold chill ghosting over her psyche. The feeling was only enhanced as she noted the cool cloudy weather outside her apartment window.

‘Maybe he hates me too.’

She shook her head and huffed, he would not suffer himself just to be with someone he did not like. She knew somewhere in her heart that she had made a good decision in staying with him, her Sesshoumaru, but it was starting to cause doubts. It had been exactly three days since the male had contacted her and to some that would be cause for them to suspect that he had found another or worse… Shuddering, Kagome looked at her phone for the umpteenth time. Still nothing.

‘He’ll come around eventually.’ She assured herself.

She held on for so long because she felt that if she waited, he would see in her what he did not see in the other women. When he did, she did not want him to wear his heart on his sleeve, she wanted him to stand tall and proud as he told her his intentions to take her heart. She wanted him to tell her that he held her heart and would do all that he could to make sure that she knew that his belonged to her. She wanted this, their relationship, to last longer than a year she wanted Decades. Until then, she would wait.

“Patience is not always a virtue Kagome.” Inuyasha warned, “You need to make him realize that you aren’t going to always be the pillow that he can fall back on. He said that he wanted to marry you, but its you who makes the effort to be there. He needs to do something. Dammit K’gome! If he does not, I will find someone who will. I don’t care if he is my brother, you deserve better than this.” Kagome turned to him and smiled, “I didn’t hear you come in. I am patient with your brother because I need time. I know I have been hurt for a while but I will not let that get in my way of what I want. I wait for your brother not because I can’t find better, it is because he is the best in my eye.” She sighed and looked back out of the window.

“Kagome what about what you WANT. I’m tired of seeing that look in your eyes.”

“What look?”

“When you feel alone, you get this blank look. It is the look of a dying soul. Like you have lost all hope in life.” He answered with a growl. She smiled.

“Inuyasha, sometimes you get used to being treated a certain way, it takes time for you to recover, if you can at all... if it comforts you, I was worse than this. I could be just like Kaguya if you wanted me to be. If not worse.” She smirked when he shuddered. She turned back to see that he had stalked off towards her kitchen. She would prove them all wrong. They would see what she could do to him. She would make him better. It was a female failing, to fix what was not broken, and she was not immune to it. She would fix him. Then the world would see him as she did.

‘You don’t know what you’re talking about, I’ll show you what I’m waiting on. You’ll see.’

A/n: So this is my first Chapter. I hope that you liked it. These are somewhat interconnected. I do not own any of the hard work that Rumiko Takahashi put into the characters.
