Through the Flames by Kagome-chan

Kagome stormed out of Inuyasha’s camp. She had enough of the crap she went through. She heard Inuyasha’s voice yell, “Kagome! Come back here now!” but she was far from going back there. Then she heard a noise, not a creepy noise, but a sad howl from outside the bushes she came to. She went out of the bushes, curious, when she saw Inuyasha’s half-brother Sesshomaru, injured, just a few feet away. She slowly headed towards him when she heard a low growl. Kagome looked down and saw him, glaring at her.

“Hey now, I’m only here to help then I’ll be on my way.” Sesshomaru glanced suspiciously at Kagome then slowly nodded for her to help. Heh, she’s useless besides healing. Maybe she can be used for healing, Sesshomaru thought to himself as she healed him. “There, I’ll be on my-”she paused as she saw Inuyasha running after her. She immediately got up and ran away, towards the nearest place to hide. She hid near Sesshomaru’s castle. The only safe place to hide, she thought to herself. Kagome noticed Sesshomaru besides her.

“You can hide at my castle. Just as long as you promise to heal Rin or Jaken anytime they get hurt, either by accident…or demon.” Sesshomaru said emotionless. He could care less if she got caught by Inuyasha; just the healing power is unbelievable. That’s all he needs from her. She looked at him and said,

“Okay, thank you. I promise to heal them.” So they walked together, Sesshomaru barely wanting to be around her. So he took her upstairs to her room…for now. He told her Rin would be bringing up her food. She just nodded and slumped on the comfortable couch he left in here. Not shortly after, Rin came bounding up the stairs in her cute little Kamana with two plates of food!

“Hi, I’m Rin! Nice to meet ya!” She said with happiness in her voice.

“I’m kagome, nice to meet you.” Kagome said with a smile on her face. She couldn’t wait to get to do Rin’s hair, play outside and just hear her cute laugh.

“I’ll eat up here, with you!” Rin sat down right besides Kagome. They nearly spent almost three and a half hours together! When Rin said she had to go down, Kagome waved.

“Hey Rin!” Kagome said happily.

“Yeah?” Rin answered excitedly.

“Maybe when you come up here, I’ll do your hair sometimes?” Kagome asked nervously, hoping she says yes.

“Sure, I’d love that! And play outside too!” Rin suggested.

“Yeah, that would be nice. See ya,” Kagome said excited for tomorrow to come and see what it brings. Sesshomaru came up to check on me.

“You will leave here shortly. Get your things now…” Sesshomaru hesitated with the words as she packed up her things.

“But I thought you needed me for healing?” Kagome said to Sesshomaru sadly. She didn’t know why she was feeling down to leave. Maybe it was her new friend Rin that made it hard to leave, or maybe she loved…wait no! I do not love Sesshomaru! She shook her head, ran out the door, ran outside and as tears flowed down her face she stopped. She could feel the warm tingly feeling turn into sorrow, for as Sesshomaru kicked her out on the first day, she actually felt pretty lonely now. She walked slowly back to Inuyasha’s territory.  Inuyasha ended up with Kikyo, kissing her and telling her how beautiful she was. “Oh, hey Kagome…you can uh….leave now…I don’t need you anymore.”  Kagome just stared then ran off crying back to Sesshomaru who, surprisingly, cared for her more than he knew. Sesshomaru held her in his arms and comforted her while she wept uncontrollably for half an hour. When she finally wiped away her tears, Sesshomaru said she could stay. This time for sure she wanted to, as long as he didn’t use her again. She followed him to a bigger, better bedroom. This time he was sure that he was in love. The other times were just playing around. This time he was serious about this girl. Even though she’s human, he could sense her love and caringness for him.  When he drifted off to sleep, he had a dream that they got married and had kids. But he knew that was never going to happen. When he woke up, he didn’t feel Kagome’s presence near him. So he got up and ran to the very bedroom she was in. She was there alright, but she was unconscious and very badly wounded. He looked up and saw a demon, well…almost full-fledged demon. He never expected this turn of events.
