Opposite Reaction

I do not own Rumiko Takahashi's character, nor do I make a profit from writing this. This has been inspired from watching "Enemy Mine".

They rushed into the makeshift delivery room that was in Sesshomaru's home. The youkai doctor was on his last nerve, unsure of what to do. 

Sango looked at the one about to have a baby.    "Just keep breathing like that," she kept saying. Then she noticed the doctor looking at her.   "W-what am I suppose to do about this?! I've never before dealt with anything like this in my life."

"Don't worry, Iriaki-sama. You can do it. I'll help you with anything I can too," said Kagome, who had been studying under a midwife, to try and better help the situation.. 

"I hope we have everything needed," Sango spoke up.

"I think l going to kill you all if you don't shut up, and get my pup out of me!" The pregnant youkai growled.

"All pregnant women get like this when they are about to give birth," said Iriaki-sama, to assure them.

The pregnant and grumpy youkai grabbed the front of the doctors haori then growled, eyes tinted red.  "THIS Sesshomaru is NOT a woman!!!!"

6 months earlier.

"Why not? Wouldn't you love to have your own children running around," asked Kagome's mate, his golden orbs looking at her lovingly.

"Sesshomaru, it's not that I don't want children...I just am not sure. Are you sure you're ready for children?" She looked into his eyes, to see how he would react. "After all, they will be half-"

"Kagome, we have been together for a little over two years now. You should know that this Sesshomaru does not care about them being half youkai. Also, now that Naraku is gone and you are so far along in your college years, it feels like the right time."

Kagome thought about it a moment before smiling softly. Closing the book she was reading, she nodded. "All right Sesshomaru. I'm ready to have your child."

Sesshomaru then kissed her, neither realizing the bug on the wall listening in.

... 

"Are you sure, Tani," asked the voice in the shadows to the small insect demon.

"Yes, Lady Matoko. They plan on having a pup soon."

Lady Matoko grinned. "What perfect timing. I just finished a little concoction that may allow me to get my revenge on Lord Sesshomaru yet. That's what he gets for daring to banish me, the great sorceress of the west!" She then began to laugh maniacally.

....

"But Master Jaken! Why can't I see Lord Sesshomaru and Lady Kagome," asked Rin.

"They are really busy right now," he replied. 'Oh, how hard it is to keep her from knowing,' he thought.

He was so busy trying to keep Rin away from his lord's bedroom that he didn't notice the bug with a small vial strapped upon his back. The insect walked right through the screen door through the place he had chewed a hole in it the other day. Blushing slightly, his bug eyes seeing exactly what was going on. Flying up, he waited for the right moment, before pouring the vial on Sesshomaru and Kagome. Snickering to his self, his wings stopped fluttering. Before he realized it, he fell onto the lovers. It didn't take long for them to notice him and for him to be smashed by a scroll then tossed away.

....

Finally, he had joined with her and created their pup inside of his lovely wife. Sesshomaru then looked to her face and saw how happy she was. Just then, they both began to glow.

"W-What the-,"stuttered out Kagome. All of a sudden, Kagome's glow migrated off her body and joined with Sesshomaru. Something felt strange inside her...Like she was missing something but not something large. Sesshomaru, on the other hand, felt to his side, holding to his belly. "Sesshomaru," she shouted.

'What is happening,' thought Sesshomaru, as a part of his insides changed drastically?

Kagome quickly called for a doctor.

...

The doctor gulped as he looked at the couple. "I'm not sure how to tell this to you. I'm not even really sure how it happened. All I know is that there is indeed a pup.  But it is not in Kagome's womb."

"If it is not, then where else would it be," asked Sesshomaru, with a raised brow. He noticed the doctor's finger pointing at him, and his eyes widened. "No, this cannot be!" Sniffing the air, he found the doctor to be telling the truth. "Impossible! This Sesshomaru cannot be pregnant!"

Since it was a demon's pregnancy, it had only lasted six painful months. During those months both Inuyasha and Miroku have been in and out of the doctor's office being treated for broken bones inflicted by Sesshomaru throwing objects, both sharp and dull, at them. The only person Sesshomaru would let around him was Kagome. Never would Sesshomaru had thought growing a pup within him would cause so much pain and exhaustion. He felt weak. And he hated it. Once or twice he would try to assure himself that he was not weak and would end up making himself sick afterwards. He actually started eating cooked human foods, having strange cravings for them. The worst part though was having to deal with all the comments and snickers made, knowing that he was in no shape to punish everyone. 

The only person keeping him from destroying as much as he could around him, during these months was Kagome at his side. If he hadn't had that, he probably would have never gotten through the constant snickers and troubles of pregnancy.

After the operation was a success, he held their pup in his arms. It was a girl. He could not help but smile as he looked down at her. "She made all these months worth it," he spoke, handing her off to Kagome. "I will say this though; this Sesshomaru never wants to go through this again. I will find whoever put me through this and show them a whole new meaning for hell," he growled, but not so loud that it would upset their pup.
