"Kagome-lass! Won't ye be getting home soon? Those bloomin' Faeries are always lookin' for a mere mortal to enthrall."

"Aye, mathair! I'll be inside in a wee bit. Just let my pick some more of these flowers," spoke the young lass in return. She watched her mother smile, as she pulled a strand of hair from in front of her face. Having long, black hair and nearly straight, her mother the same; it was surprising for them to be born of Irish lineage. Alas, that is not what makes the young lass special. A pleasant smile always upon her face would be the answer to that. The lads in town are always commenting on her pretty smile. "Tis te prettiest feature on 'er," some have said. "A kind 'eart belongs tae tat one." Now that she was old enough, all the young lads have tried to court her.  Still, she does not take the asking. Her heart just hadn't spotted the one for her.

She did come close once though. There was a lad, whose hair had grown gray long before its time. It was something about his heredity. Along with it, he was given lovely golden eyes. He was the son of a boxer, and a mighty fine boxer himself. That is what she lost him to. They had been courting for only two months, when he met Kikyo. That was it, for their courting. It broke the lass's heart, though she would never want to keep him from the one he truly loved. Ever since then, she just hasn't felt her heart fluttering. 'One day,' she would tell herself. 'I'll know when I see him.'

She then turned back around, and began picking the flowers once again. Oh, how Kagome had loved the smell of flowers. Any flower was lovely, as they were placed in a vase upon the table daily. She had been gathering all sorts of kind within her basket. So far, she had gotten spring gentians, lords and ladies, large-flowered butter worts, and the like.  'Just a few more,' she thought.

'Ooh. I spy a yellow flag. I tink I'll be pickin' at least one of-'She stopped, gasping at the site before her. "A four leaf clover! What luck I be havin' today?!"

As she reached down to grab it, she noticed it began to move. Not thinking anything of it, she squinted one eye and said," Not on me watch!"

The same thing happened over and over. She tried to grab it, and it moved. Grabbed for it, and it moved.

"What in te known world be goin' on here!?" She stopped, tapping her finger slightly on her chin. "Hnnn." A grin spread across her face, before she sighed and shrugged. "Oh well. I guess I'll be leavin' it tere ten." Acting like she was leaving, she quickly turned around and grabbed it, pulling it up, only to gasp at what she saw. Almost dropping what it was, she heard it speaking. Well, more like grumbling.

There, attached to the clover, was a small being holding onto its hat. Apparently it had it strapped tight enough to de hat to hold; Kagome had lifted the being as well. She watched what appeared to be a wee man wiggle and jiggle around, as he tried to pull his hat free. Unable to help herself, she giggled at the sight. "Well, now what in the name of Saint Peter are ye?"

...

The little being ignored her, as he growled at the situation. He was unable to keep his head underneath the hat; his long flowing silver locks falling out from it. His pointed ears barely could be seen, from between the strands of hair. Pulling harder than he should, the clover ripped off. He didn't think about how far he would fall, but worried about it now, only to land softly in her other hand. Placing the hat back on his head, he crossed his arms, and grumbled about humans, and how they tend to have more luck than any four-leaf clover ever could.

"Well," he heard her say. Looking up at her, he found himself quite surprised. 'A lass...with black hair?' Never had he seen a lovelier creature in the world. Just the way her blue eyes sparkled, and her smile melted the anger he had been feeling. 'Tis almost like this lass has magic of 'er own. Then, he remembered how he found himself seeing such creature in the first place. Face turning to an emotionless expression, he stood up and dusted himself off.

"Haven't ye ever heard stories of leprechauns, human? Oh, are ye just not tat bright tae realize tat yer lookin' at one?"

...

'Why tat wee-' She thought.

"Actually, I hear tat tey all have big, curly beards, and more to the look of older men. Although, ye look older tan tat, seeing as the color of yer hair is silver." Catching a glint of anger across his face, she giggled some more.

Although, she had noticed more than just his hair. The only thing she could see remotely like the leprechauns of legend were his clothes and height. Otherwise, nothing was too similar. Pointed ears, like a fey would, and skinny as a young lad, she couldn't help but notice his handsome features. Never before had she seen such a handsome lad, even if he was a leprechaun.

"Well, if ye are a leprechaun, I suppose ten I have caught ye."

...

Just as he thought. Not only was she told the legends of his kind, but she knew what would happen if someone caught one.  'Dis Sesshomaru has not only gotten meself caught, but now must give wishes to a mere mortal. Me fater will never let me live dis down.' Looking up at her, he knew that he should trick her, to where she wouldn't get any wishes; but, the innocence in her eyes couldn't bring him to it. 'I better not be gettin' soft.'

"All right, lass. Ye understand ten what happens now. What be yer first wish?"

Kagome sat down, setting her basket down as well. What could she wish for? She was quite happy with the way things were. There was no need for a pot of gold nor luck to go with it. Really, the only thing she wanted was not to be lonely. Even she knew that she could end up that wish being a curse. She knew that leprechauns were notorious for tricks. So instead of wishing for something extraordinaire-

"I wish to have a conversation with you, even if it be only a little less than an hour."

...

Sesshomaru blinked a few times. 'A conversation? Tat's all, for 'er first wish? Well, if tat is what she desires...'

"Granted."

...

Kagome walked within the forest nearby, Sesshomaru upon her shoulder. They talked about many things. Neither thought they could feel so happy just talking to one another. Sesshomaru almost forgot this was a wish. They both then noticed how it was getting dark, and now she was far from home. "Oh great. We've been talking so long, I forgot to pay attention to where we were headin'."

Sesshomaru smiled. "Well, you can always wish us back to your home."

"True..."  She thought about it and nodded. "Very well. I wish were both standin' outside me current home."

"Granted," he said, smiling.

In almost a second, they were indeed standing in front of it. She looked to him and smiled. "Tank ye, Sesshomaru."

"This no trouble at all. Do ye know what will be yer third wish?"

"Not attall." She paused in her thoughts, and looked to be thinking about it. "How about ye stay at me house for de night? I'll even give you a wee supper, and a place to rest."

While usually he would decline such an offer, this time he wouldn't. He had gotten to know a lot about this human, and wanted to learn more.

"Very well, but ye will have to be makin' yer wish in de morning. Agreed?"

"Agreed," she replied, as she brought him in, making sure that her mother wouldn't see. She soon found there was nothing to worry about, as he mother had fallen asleep, while she was gone. Walking into the kitchen, she made up a faery-size meal of bread and meat, with a thimble full of mead.

Sesshomaru had enjoyed the meal, and thanked her for such. Walking back onto the palm of her hand, she brought him into her bedroom, and made a small bed for him, on her nightstand. She left and returned to the room, wearing her nightgown, covered by her robe.

"Have pleasant dreams, Sesshomaru," she said, as she crawled into bed.

....

Sesshomaru watched her sleeping. 'She looks even prettier as she sleeps,' he thought. Wanting to get a closer look, he climbed down off of the stand, and then climbed up the sheets, onto her bed. Sitting on her pillow, he watched her slowly breathe in and out. Her smile was gone from her face, but he now saw a peaceful side of her. Gulping, he knew that what he was doing was wrong, in both worlds. Never should a man be so close to a lass he wasn't married to, and while she was sleeping. 'This may be my only chance though,' he thought, only wishing to look upon her.

His eyes slowly followed down the softness of her face, and to her neck. Almost jumping out of his skin, he watched her move, probably to get more comfortable. A blush crept across his face, as he noticed now more of her was less covered. Soft plump flesh peaked from the front of her gown; her hands lying on either side of her face. His thoughts raced to him being the same height as she, his legs straddling her waist, and thinking how perfect she now lay for such a pose. 'Like a waiting lover,' he thought.  He scorned himself, for allowing his thoughts to wander to such a thing. 'But, then again,' he started.

He had learned more about this lass than he ever knew of humans, and she of his kind. The more he had learned, the more he longed to stay beside her, to find out more about her. Now, as he gazed upon her, he found himself never wanting to look away from her. 'If I could have any woman as me wife, I would wish for tem to be like 'er...Or even be 'er.' His heart plummeted then. That could never be. After all, she was a human, and he a mere leprechaun. 'Besides, as lovely as she is, tere are probably tons of lads out tere, just waitin' to take her hand.'  Even as he thought it, his fist clenched, and his blood began to boil. He didn't want to see her with another. He wanted to see her with him, even if they were only courting.

Hearing her sigh softly in sleep, he feared he may wake her, or she just wake on her own, and see him sitting there. So, he climbed back down, and returned to the bed she had made him. 'If only....,' he thought, as he slowly closed his eyes. Perhaps sleeping on it would calm him down.

...

The next morning, Kagome woke up bright and early. After a quick clean from the wash bowl, she was dressed and making breakfast. She hid some aside, for Sesshomaru. After all, she didn't want her mother to be getting curious. When her mother was heading to town for supplies, she told her she would just stay home this time, and look after the house.

Kagome took the food and drink to Sesshomaru, and laid it beside his bed, seeing that he was still fast asleep. She smiled softly, seeing was sweet he looked resting there. Her face then blushed, noticing his shirt was buttoned down, and she could see the fine lines of the chest of a hard working man. Feeling a bit embarrassed by it, she looked away, only to turn her glance back towards him. The more she looked, the more she felt a sort of fluttering in her chest. 'It cannae be,' she thought, as she turned away, and faced her dresser. Her hand pressed against her chest, and felt her heart beating at a fast pace. 'How could I be feeling tis way? I hardly even know him. But, for what do I know about him,' she stopped, and glanced back over at him, sighing slightly. She jerked her head away. 'No, I cannae! Besides, he's a leprechaun, and I be a mere mortal. He probably has a lass back home anyways.' She could feel her heart breaking at the thought of it. 'But still. I don't want to lose a chance at being with him, even if it were a small chance in te first place.' She then smiled, after making up her mind. 'First, I will...'

....

Sesshomaru had woken up, to the smell of food nearby. Looking down upon the napkin, he smiled. 'She made me breakfast I see,' he thought, as he got up to eat it. He thought that sleeping on it all would help, but he woke up, still feeling the same. 'She'll be makin' 'er final wish today as well... I won't be seeing her after tat.' Knowing that only made him feel worse. So, when she asked if he could stay a little longer, and speak with her some more, he couldn't refuse.

"Well, I really shouldnae, but I don't see any harm in it," he spoke, trying to act like it wasn't a big deal. They then went outside, to talk.

...

He found that she would slip into the conversation some very interesting questions, like 'do you have anyone waiting back home' or 'what do you think about humans'. Of course, he answered as best as he could, trying not to show how he was growing feelings for her. Although, he did make a slip.

"Well, I wouldnae mind being married to anoder leprechaun, if tae only be like you, if dat be da case." He shortly realized his mistake, and blushed slightly, gulping.

...

Kagome couldn't believe her ears. He practically just said he liked her. "Do-Do ye really feel that way, Sesshomaru?" While she couldn't wait for him to answer, she was also afraid of what he might say. Watching his features, she saw his amber eyes soften.

"Aye, I do mean that, Kagome-lass. Any man should be happy to spend even an hour of teir life in ye presence."

At that moment, Kagome felt all warm inside. Her heart raced, as she blushed. 'Never have I heard such a compliment.' At that moment, she knew that her wish was what she really wanted. "Sesshomaru, I tink I know what I want to wish for, but only if you feel right about it."

He perked up. Now, what could she be wanting to wish for that would make him not want to make it? He would grant her any wish she'd desire.

She looked down at him, a smile lying upon her face. "I want tae be wit' ye, as a leprechaun. I know tat we may find ourselves not wanting tae be together, or ye may not want it. I just feel as if yer the one I've been waiting for to be wit' te rest of me days."

After hearing her exclamation, he felt his emotions come to life, and take flight. A smile spread wide across his face. "If that be what ye wish for, then wish it."

Kagome then nodded, wishing for it. Sesshomaru lifted his arms, holding them out to her. "Granted."

A strand of sparkling dust flew around her. Kagome closed her eyes, afraid she would get it in her eyes. When she could feel it gone, she opened her eyes, only to fall into his arms.

...

Sesshomaru held her close, breathing in the scent of her hair. "Oh, Kagome-lass. Ye wouldn't believe how much I wanted tis, even if we only just met yesterday."

Kagome looked up at him, her eyes sparkling, and her newly pointed ears wiggling slightly. "Oh, I tink I have a good idea."

Leaning his head forward, his lips met hers in a deep, loving kiss. They seemed to stay that way, for more than an eternity. When he reluctantly pulled away, he grinned impishly. "Oh, Kagome! Wit' a kiss like tat, I may want to just skip tae te honeymoon!"

Kagome blushed, and then giggled. They then kissed again, the sun raising high into the sky, making the dew drops around them glisten.

....

Well, they at least courted for a whole month, before they were wed. Kissing his bride, Sesshomaru picked her up, and carried her to his home, and across the thresh hold. Not long after that, he had her lying in his bed, a pretty little blush across her face. His jacket was off, and soon his suspenders with it. Kagome gulped and licked her dry lips, taking in the sight of Sesshomaru, his shirt now unbuttoned. A sculpted chest he had, but not too built. He knelt on the bed, and crawled up her body, stealing her lips with his own, as he slowly undressed her; she was helping him do so. When he could see her bare chest before him, he smirked devilishly.

"Seems my wee Kagome has been hiding away a precious sight underneath the man-made clothings."

"You haven't seen it all yet. I have many more surprises tae find tan tat," she replied, an eyebrow arched.

Kissing the top of her breast, loving the sound of her gasping, he added," Well, I guess I'll have tae wish tae see it, won't I?"

...

Kagome knew that four-leaf clover she found was lucky, just as the legend said. She could never guess how lucky it really was, until the moment she became his.
