I do not own Rumiko Takahashi's characters or the play mentioned, nor do I write this for profit. This was written for Dany's challenge "Taiyoukai Torture".

Sesshomaru was irritable. Groaning in his seat, he got a slight slap to the leg and a shush near his ear.

"You promised me you wouldn't do this," spoke the female beside her.

"I'll stop now," he replied, watching her retuned her brown orbs towards the stage. He looked towards it as well, regretting he did.

Oh, did he want to either tear those on the stage to ribbons, or to make himself deaf and blind. 'At least blind,' he thought, as he watched the decorated and costumed people on stage parade around. Oh, how he wished they didn't 'come out tonight'.  He covered his face with his long-clawed fingers, and rested the palm attached to the side of his face. He closed his eyes, as he kept in another groan. They then shot open again, when the music picked up once more, and he wished he hadn't. He began to pray, even beg that this would in.

"Oh, why did this Sesshomaru ever agree to this,' he thought. Oh, but he knew why. He could remember the scene, as if it was played out before him, as this dreadful display of showmanship. He looked over, seeing the female beside him, and that look of hopefulness in her eyes. He did this for her, even though all he wanted to do now was to leave this theatre, and spend the rest of the evening with her. He wanted to leave, and never look back on this day again.

When more and more seemed to appear on stage, he tossed and turned in his seat. The tie he had decided to wore was now undone, and his lesser instinct was telling him to do as any of his animal kin would do. 'This wouldn't be a problem, if they were smaller,' he thought to himself. His claws had elongated, and started to dig into the arms of the theatre seats. He tried to get up, to escape the constant for a while, but was topped by a hand on his, and the soft voice telling him that her favorite part was coming on.

As the torment persisted, he found his only relief was when there was only one, who was there singing, or when the lights dimmed, and he remembered their scents as actors. 'If this has another Act, I'm not sure how long I can last....'

...

As the play ended, he heard the clapping of the crowds. The actors only came out to bow, before leaving the stage. He had to wait through the standing ovation, and watched as the curtain came down. His eyes were tinted a bit on the pinkish side, as he was on the brink of losing control of himself. He felt as if a cloak and cruel and unusual torture had been lifted from him. He wished to never, under any circumstances, that he would never have to see this play again. As they left, her arms were wrapped around his, and she was full of glee.

"I looove Cats! I'm glad I bought it!"

His eye started to twitch again, as the realization that this would be shown before his face many more times to come sank in. It started to eat away at him already. The images of that play flashed within his thoughts, and he almost growled at just the thought of it. He needed to calm a bit. He closed his eyes, as they walked, and tried to block the images, having very little success.  Sighing, he spoke.

"Let's just go home, Kagome."
