Willingly Ruined by ProudHanyou
Chapter 1
Again she runs through the forest. He is making a fool of himself by chasing the one thing he could never have. Is he not? He could be trying to convince himself. She was far too deep into his heart, all of it would be demolished if he tried to rip her out. So the demon tells himself, he could never have her because he knew if he did, she could never leave again, he would be nothing but ashes if she did. Another dried branch crushes under her feet. Her laugh echoes through the humid dim woods and his mind. Yet here he stands, under the grey sky, pining for this foolish human miko. His father’s warnings run through his head. Her sweet scent, luring him like a rabbit to an obvious trap still it’s too hungry to retreat, he walks toward her knowing she will be his ruin. Memories of the days she was nothing but his brother’s companion came uninvited, the thought made him realize he should have been more grateful at the time for the agony of never tasting all of her was yet to annihilate his centuries old carefully cultivated self-control. Was she worth it? His foundation was rumbling and all his morals crumbling. His pride, his lineage, all he thought of himself was being washed away by the rain that poured, amplifying her perfume. The odd thing is, he would throw it all away to savor her again. She smelled of lilies but tasted of clouded judgment. Sesshomaru came to a halt just before the well. There she stood silent. The weeping sky, the only witness of how low he had fallen down. The black luminous hair was dripping, her white shirt unreasonably transparent made his mouth dry. His instincts roared within its cage, to taste her, to take her, to… He wondered, what did he want from her? “Say it.” The soaked priestess pronounced it at once. Not asking, not pleading, she never did with him. The demon remained voiceless. He knew what she wanted from him, she didn’t need to explain herself. He followed her here like a predator, famished for its next meal, starved for the flesh he knew it would leave him satiated and somehow he felt like a prey, like a weak animal that realized too late the crushing weight of the food chain, like a moth flying in absolute bliss to its death, nothing to be done. Sesshomaru’s mouth open and closes, he wants to tell her, of the pain of watching her, of the devastating need that makes him follow her around, of the destructive rage of falling victim to everything he despised about his father, of the overwhelming feeling that is to be near her, to see her smile, to hear his name escape her lips. He knew nothing about the emotion running havoc inside his brain when he was with her and it was killing him. “You make me forget who I am.” His deep voice finally replied, amber eyes never leaving her figure. She turned, her bright blue eyes wide in surprise stared back. He dared to step further into her personal space, towering over her he saw her fall back and sit on the edge of the well. Once again he felt like the predator, the dominant one, the carnivore beast looking down at its fresh dinner and all felt like it was right back its proper place, for a second. Somehow it felt wrong, she was not his prey, he was not hers. The demon kneeled in front of her, his white pristine garment getting drenched with mud, a perfect metaphor of his current condition his mother would say. Their eyes met at the same height, his clawed hand reached for her face to cup her cheek, he watched her leaning into his touch, the warmth of her skin prickling his palm, her closed eyes and parted lips inviting. He memorized every detail of her face, her light freckles, her blushing nose, her delectable rosy mouth, her now open clear blue eyes staring back at him, asking, begging. He could never deny her a single thing. It felt like floating in electric air, like there was nothing else but the two of them and the well beneath. The anticipation was tightening his throat. He decided he couldn’t take it anymore, he would not let this human control him. He took the leap and clashed their lips. After tasting her tongue he realized just how big of a fool he had been in his previous thought, he knew he was doomed. Eternity seemed to pass before their mouths parted, her swollen lips hunting for air, her eyes darken. “You and me.” Sesshoumaru acknowledged, his face serious with resolve. Their foreheads touched, their eyes drinking each other's colors. “Us.” Kagome replied, her smile bright, her warm hand caressing his.
