It had been 506 Years since Hojo, 6 years since she awoke from the coma Lady Midoriko had placed her in to heal. Since then Kagome was a new person, she completed her schooling and now worked for a charity to help people to recover from rape or attempted rape. Life was wonderful except for a slight problem, Hojo in this time. He never understood why Kagome feared him and after giving her some space had started to seek her affection about a year ago.

Sesshomaru hadn’t taken to the newest (or eldest) rival for Kagome’s affection too well.  He saw the same Hojo that he killed over 500 years ago, sadly so did Kagome. Although she had healed from the ordeal, she hadn’t forgotten it either. However today was to be a special day. Today Sesshomaru announced the news he had been awaiting to say for 506 years.

It was time announce his engagement to Kagome.

“Kagome?” Sesshomaru called walking into the Temple. Mrs Higurashi had said her daughter was praying in the main temple.

“Sessho?” a small voice called back. If his heart could, it would have broken. Kagome was heaped in the middle of the room in what was a beautiful Kimono but somehow it had gotten ripped and stained with a red liquid.

“Koishii whatever happened?” Kagome looked down. “Hojo’s younger brother, he came and demanded that I forget marrying you and start showing his brother the same love he had been showing me these last few years. And when I refused he did this. He even asked why would you of all people want me?”

“Kagome, listen to me,

Later that evening saw Sesshomaru announce to the world that he would be married Kagome Higurashi by the end of the year. Hojo and his family were there as well as most of Kagome’s old school friends. To say they were shocked was a huge understatement.

“Kags, why didn’t you tell us you were dating The Sesshomaru West?!?” Hojo asked surprised. He knew what his younger brother had done and had mentally thanked him but when it was THE Sesshomaru West then things were different. For a start, Mr West owned the hospital he worked at and if he found out what his brother had done……Hojo may have to go as far as America to find work to continue his career.

“He asked me not to tell anyone until tonight, as we will start living together. Until the wedding of course, Gramps would go ballistic if I didn’t” Kagome said putting on a brave face. Yes, she was still scared of him but this time Inuyasha was going to be her shadow and was within reach, with Sesshomaru being on the alert.

Hojo nodded. Only now truly did he realise that Kagome wasn’t going to be his. A piece of him demanded he take her as his, take her away from this man but he crushed that thought. He couldn’t do that to her
