A lovely and poignant way of expressing the truth of marriage! For some reason, we as young females tend to overly romanticize the notion that the passionate love that flares at the beginning of the relationship will stay at the same level as time passes - but it doesn't. It deteriorates and becomes something new. Nothing can stay in fire that long without becoming burned. If the love is true, what remains is different, duller, but deeper and more profound...and much, much harder to live with because it's hazy and indistinct. I really like the portrayal, and I have enjoyed your other pieces. I look forward to reading more!
