| That's actually pretty interesting and original, but it isn't a good enough reason to stop Kagome and InuYasha from being together. InuYasha is anywhere from 17 to 150 years old not counting the 50 years he was sealed. so, if you go by the mimimum He was born 567 years before Kagome was and probably more like 700 years before she was. 567 years is enough for 21 human generations (14-40 generations actually.) Even if you go with the most conservative numbers, Kagome is so far removed from InuYasha in the family tree that it wouldn't matter. My own parents are 8th cousins and I am perfectly healthy and formed and I have an IQ of 140, so there is no genetic problems with it. If their was going to be some sort of society based reason that they couldn't be married, then most people would likely have to marry outside of their country and race in order to avoid marrying someone who is more closely related than cousins 14 times removed. I suppose that if after Izayoi's twin, the line to Kagome was all paternal, then they could be as close as 7th or 8th cousins depending on the longevity of the males and the fertility of the females. Still not enough to worry about. Perhaps I am assuming too much in that you are using the familial relationship as a reason to break up Inu and Kag... Other than that problem I do like your writing style and the characters are well written so far.
