Ah. So THAT'S why Ikaru knocked Sesshomaru out and is insisting on him being kept unconscious for a while. With what we knew such action did not make any sense However with these newly revealed rules/laws it does. Obviously Sesshomaru would not want his mate -especially pupped- in any potential danger. At least with this loophole and fighting Ikaru it is unlikely she will Target the pup, and will in all likelihood try Not to hurt it.

What I wonder... is why, if Sesshomaru knew the laws for mating which he Must have, had he not mentioned anything to Kagome or even Ericka before now?

Kagome at least is handling the news well.
