Very interesting story so far. I love the setting and you've built up some excitement about Sesshoumaru's return. Can't wait to see what happens when he sees her all grown up! And I hope you go into some more detail about what this great power is. I've got a feeling that Kagome has something to do with it. 

i love this!! the dessert surely fits them. a quick, historical note: most experieced travelers advanced at night in the dessert. The stars guide better than blinding sun, and it's much less exhausting ;)
