You did a really nice job with this.  I found your story to be entertaining as well as original.   I liked part 1 better than 2.  Probably because the story in part 1 seemed more drawn out and detailed.  Part 2 you quickened your pacing and and things resolved a bit too pattly for my taste.  Still it was a well written story and I enjoyed reading it.
