Your story is very good. I'm enjoying the plot very much and would love to read it until its end. It's an original plot in a sea of overdone plots. Congrats. As for the dowry bit. In your note at the end you have the explanation for dowries mistaken. A dowry is money, or property (like you said), but instead of fathers demanding it in exchange for their daughters, it is money or property that the daughter brings to her new husband through marriage. A large dowry indicated a wealthy family and a wealthy and worthy wife. A small dowry indicated less in social and economical status.

Lovely update, I like it how, u made it take him awhile to realize it. It would be awesome if u had him trying to force her to remember, but she just keeps getting the wrong idea.

Perhaps Kagome was not a slave prior to her capture. I would have thought her scent would have given Sesshoumaru any identifying information he needed. Unless you are implying she is the reincarnation of, not Kikyou because she is still living, but someone Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha knew in the past.
