Might I point out though, when you wrote 'leisurely raised to pin her with a disarmingly revertant look', 'slowly' would work better than 'leisurely' (he's very serious here, and leisure denotes a playful air) and I think 'reverent' is likely what you were teaching for instead of 'revertant'.
