Prologue

Summary: Youkai and Tenshi have always been separated. This is the legend of a tenshi and a youkai who defied the rules of the feudal world. This is the story of how they met, how they fell in love and how they defied the laws of both heaven and earth. This legend shows that not only are youkai sinners, but tenshi are too.

How could this be happening to her after all this time, all these years of building their home, their lives, their love; how could this be possible? Here he was in her lap as tears streamed down her face as she wept with every labored breath he took.

She felt her heart breaking, her wings spreading to try and comfort both her and to shield him. She was physically, emotionally, and mentally drained. She was exhausted and she felt that it was a bit unfair that they had worked so hard and now, with his head in her lap. He lay dying.

'No!' she thought, 'I will not let you leave me! Never will I ever leave you.' Her tears flowed harder and longer. Her sadness overwhelming her. Suddenly, the sickly sweet smell of blood hit her, but it was easily ignored.

She saw his silk clothes being ruined by the horrible serum. "How could this have happened?" she whispered to the sky, as blood red tears ran from her eyes and down her heart shaped face and onto his silky clothes.
