Curiousity Killed the Dog Demon by The Fallen Angel of Death
One
"OSUWARI!" Kagome commanded.
Thud, "Bitch! I said your not going back and that's final! Kasua mooto saka! Test and friends all the time! You have to stay here! The shikon is your responsability!" he yelled without bothering to stand since Kagome wasn't running.
"I'm not stupid! I know that the shikon is my responsability! Baka, how could I not? Your always reminding me! I only need two days rest! TWO DAYS! I have one test tommarow and I have a lot of things to turn in! I've been here for over two weeks! The kids must be worried sick!" and Hojo's probably trying his damnedest to try and get granpa to give her medicine for god knows what now.
"NO! I S-" Inuyasha stopped suddenly and stood his eyes turned fearful for a moment but then returned to anger, but not at Kagome.
"What is it Inuyasha?" Kagome asked her voice suddenly full of concern. She didn't know what Inuyasha was worried and angry about but if it interupted one of their usuall arguements it had to be a real big deal.
"I can smell him." Inuyasha said then growled low in his throat.
Kagome opened her mouth to ask what he was talking about, but there was no need as the foe finally appeared in a gale wind.
"Well Koneechewah, dog turd." Kouga said with a grim smile on his face.
"Wimpy wolf! What do you want this time?" Dumb question but let's face it Inuyasha was never the brightest one was he?
(Keh, sorry Inu fans!)
Kouga didn't answer him just ran past him to Kagome knocking the poor pup to the ground. "Koneechewah Kagome, I've missed you."
Kagome hid the urge to smile, sometimes Kouga could be so sweet, and sometimes he could be such an ass, "Koneechewah!" she said cheerfully.
"KOUGA you bastard!" Inuyasha yelled when he saw that Kouga held both of Kagome's hands in his, "Get your hands OFF Kagome!"
"Why? It's not like she's yours, she's my woman you could back off!" Kouga said with a more than sarcastic tone.
Kagome's eye-brows bent in frustration, Kouga kept on saying that like it was true! She wasn't his or anyones!
"Kagome is NOT yours!" Inuyasha retorted and drew Tetsaiga.
"Hmm? You would strike me and risk Kagome's life in the process?" Kouga scowled, "I can't let you hurt my woman and you simply can't be trusted to protect her. I'll just have to take her with me then."
Kagome jerked her hands out of Kouga's suddenly, suprizing both Kouga and Inuyasha, who now wore a smug smile, "See? She doesn't want you!" Inuyasha smile only got more broad, but Kouga was unnafected and instead moved closer to Kagome.
"No, hey wait a minute both of you!" Kagome said taking a step back fear evident on her face and in her scent.
"Why are you afraid?" Kouga asked looking hurt, "I won't hurt you and I'd never let that dog turd over there hurt you either."
Inuyasha was about to through a clever retort but Kagome cut him off, "No, it's not that look!" she pointed her finger up.
Kouga and Inuyasha followed the direction of Kagome's finger. Inuyasha mentally cursed at what he saw, how could he be so wrapped up in his verbal fight with Kouga to not notice the oncoming threat?
"All this, over a little human girl?" Sesshoumaru said with a menacing tone, "I would have thought the prince of the wolf demons better than that." his vioce was still and his face was as usuall emotionless.
"Huh? Who are you?" Kouga asked confusion evident on his face.
Kagome answered him, "His name is Sesshoumaru, he's Inuyasha's older full blooded demon brother."
Kouga's eyes widened in suprize, "Sesshoumaru, the Sesshoumaru? The dog turd is related to Sesshoumaru?"
"That's correct." Kagome nodded her head.
"Inuyasha." Sesshoumaru said returning the attention to the oncoming battle, "Hand over Tetsaiga and I may just spare you and your wenches lives, for now any way." his vioce spit acid as his face remained unchanged.
"My ass I'll give you Tetsaiga," Inuyasha tightened his grip on the swords hilt, "you'll have to fight me for it."
"Very well," Sesshoumaru said plainly as if it were rutine, (Okay, so by now it was, big woop.)
Sesshoumaru rushed toward Inuyasha, his right claw extended and swiped at the poor pup. Inuyasha had somehow foreseen this move and dodged to the left before Sesshoumaru had moved, but that had left him off balance, something Sesshoumaru had intended on.
Kagome pulled Kouga back to stand next to a large tree. Sure the wolf was a pain, but she didn't want him getting hurt in the battle. Or blocking her from her new plan.
"What are you doing?" he asked not wanting to stray to far from the battle.
"Getting you out of harms way." she said half cheerfully, as she went back to were her bow and arrows lay.
"So you do care!" his face twisted into a bright smile.
Kagome laughed, what else could she do? "Sure Kouga," she said smiling.
The battle raged on, Inuyasha got a painful knee to the gut as he had stumbled when dodging Sesshoumaru's claws. Sesshoumaru then put an elbow into Inuyasha's back and knocked him painfully into the ground.
Inuyasha was quick to recover from this though, for he had been knocked down into the ground several times before and had somehow managed to adapt to it and could get up in the blink of an eye. He suprized Sesshoumaru with his quick recovery and swung Tetsaiga wildly at Sesshoumaru, who, being the faster one, dodged without effort.
Inuyasha growled and lunged Tetsaiga again at Sesshoumaru, this time in another direction. Sesshoumaru dodged, and quickly moved his right arm forward gripping Inuyasha's arm sending his powerful poison into the arm. He didn't let go, he'd put enough poison into his brother to paralize him, then, he'd take Tetsaiga from him and kill his wench in front of his eyes, before killing Inuyasha himself.
(Keh, so Sesshoumaru has a bad streak, who doesn't?)
Kagome saw the hopless situation Inuyasha was in, now was the time to act. She stedied her bow aiming it directly at Sesshoumaru's right arm. She concentrated all her strength into the arrow she had to stop Sesshoumaru from killing Inuyasha! Finally, when the arrow had enough spirit energy in it she sent it flying.
Sesshoumaru did not sense, nor see the arrow, he only knew of it's existence when a pain shot through his body, originating at his right arm above the elbow but below the shoulder. He lost his grip on his brother in that instant as the pain quickly shot through his entire body.
He looked at his arm. The reched arrow had gone completely through his arm. He could see the blood stained tip of the arrow had a purple hue to it. A very powerful spirit arrow it was indeed. He looked from the bloody arm to the archer who had shot him, this archer was definatley one of a kind to produce an arrow such as this.
What he saw took his breath away, she looked like a godess, her hand still in the same position from letting go of the arrow. The look on her face was like hatred but held simpathy as well as worry in her powerful blue eyes. This was no ordinary archer she was much more powerful, she was some kind of goddess!
He shook his head violently as he realized his mistake. The woman/archer, was only Inuyasha's human wench. So that was why Inuyasha kept her around eh? She was admittatly lovely for a human.
He redirected his attention to his brother who was starring at the woman with a great suprize and love in his eyes. He was so wrapped up in the woman he wouldn't notice the next attack!
Quickly Sesshoumaru broke the tip of the arrow and pulled it painfully out of his arm with his teeth. A great amount of blood spilled from the wound, but it was nothing to a demon.
He lept at his brother again his claws wrapped around his brothers wrist, the other one this time. Again, everyone stared in amazement and suprize. Sesshoumaru smirked a hideous smirk as he willed his poison to go into his hanyou brother again, but there was nothing. No poison what-so-ever! What in the seven hells had happened?
Sesshoumaru growled as he realized the cause of his inability to produce poison. The arrow had been blessed, a very bad thing. He would needed sometime to heal! Damned witch and her damned arrows!
Inuyasha ripped his arm violently from a stunned Sesshoumaru. He raised Tetsaiga again and slashed violently several times, Sesshoumaru as usual easily dodged the sloppy swings. Just because he couldn't use his poison doesn't mean he was defensless, and Inuyasha was already slowing from the poison Sesshoumaru had put in his arm earlier.
Sesshoumaru easily found an oportunity when Inuyasha swung very awkardly missing Sesshoumaru even if he were to stand still, and he did stand still. Inuyasha was in full swing and didn't have enough time to pull Tetsaiga up and attack again. So Sesshoumaru grabbed the hilt of the great sword, just above were Inuyasha was holding it.
Inuyasha didn't let go of Tetsaiga easily, not even after Sesshoumaru delt the first set of knee kicks. Inuyasha held tight to his precious sword, but even a hanyou such as he could last only a certain amount of time. Sesshoumaru could tell kicking Inuyasha would take all day at this rate and the foolish pup was stubborn.
He knew if he got Tetsaiga away from his brother he would only be able to touch it if he had been touching the sword when Inuyasha releised the hilt. But he couldn't bother with that now. He'd find a way to take the curse off later. For now he simply had to get the sword away from Inuyasha.
Sesshoumaru releised his hold on Tetsaiga and slashed his hanyou brother's face nearly wide open.
Stunned, and in pain, Inuyasha let Tetsaiga fall to the ground as he gripped his bloodied cheek. He didn't expect that move it was very bold and out of the blue.
Sesshoumaru smirked and kicked his brother in the gut knocking the hanyou into a nearby tree (not the one near Kagome and Kouga) knocking the poor pup unconcious.
Sesshoumaru smirked an evil smirk. He had won, maybe that's what it took to get Tetsaiga, who knows? Out of mostly curiousity he bent down and grabbed Tetsaiga's hilt, suprizingly to every onlooker 'cept Kouga. The Tetsaiga didn't refuse to let Sesshoumaru touch it.
Sesshoumaru examined the blade that was now his. How did he touch it now when he could never touch it before?
The arrow!
Realization dawned upon Sesshoumaru, the woman's arrow had been pure, it had cleansed the poison from his claws as well, it should be able to give him the ability to hold Tetsaiga.
Sesshoumaru smirked, the woman was a very valuable ally. He might as well take her with him. Since Inuyasha would soon be dead. She'd have no reason aside from hatred, not to follow him.
Those thoughts were quickly washed from his head as he saw his brother stir back into the concious world. He didn't have time to think he had to simply kill the pup. He might make things difficult if he became fully concious.
He thrusted Tetsaiga out in front of him and began to walk towards his struggling brother. His triumphant walk was halted, however, by yet another pain in his arm, this time below the elbow.
He dropped Tetsaiga suddenly and cursed in his head. How could he be so stupid as to not think about the woman? She certainly had more than one arrow! He looked over at the woman. Again he saw the same thing. Not a human, but a goddess. Powerful and beautiful, standing still poised from the attack. Her eyes shining blue with strength.
This tme, however, he didn't stop looking at her. If she wasn't there then he could have Tetsaiga now, but then he wouldn't have been able to hold the mighty blade. This woman was such a riddle, she was helpful and harmful all in the same instant, yet the one who she was loyal to was the one now with the upper hand.
Inuyasha's vision was hazy at first but only for a moment. When he could see fully and move all his limbs, he saw it. Kagome standing pretty far away, and Sesshoumaru stairing at her. He had obviously had the Tetsaiga for it was lying infront of him as if he had dropped it. Sesshoumaru would never be so careless.
Enless... Inuyasha's eyes caught sight of the arrow, so that's what had happened? Inuyasha had no time to spare. He sprang forward and grabbed the Tetsaiga from the dirt.
Sesshoumaru tore his eyes from the woman's and realized he was out numbered. Inuyasha had Tetsaiga again and the woman was still fully armed. He couldn't fight that, not when he already had an open wound from one arrow and another arrow still stuck in his arm. He was defenseless.
Sesshoumaru took flight before Inuyasha decided to use the wound of the wind. He had to get out now!
Inuyasha lowered Tetsaiga when Sesshoumaru was well out of sight and hearing range, "Feh," Inuyasha spat with distaste, "Coward."
Inuyasha grinned and looked over at Kagome then frowned, Kouga was holding Kagome's hands in his agian. Who did he think he was?
"GET YOUR HANDS OFF KAGOME!!!!!!!!!!!" he burst out suddenly suprizing Kagome.
Kouga paid no heed to the words that surely hurt his sensitive ears, "Come on Kagome, you're my woman, you're to strong for the dog turd to handle! Come back with me!" he commanded, but held a sincere look in his eyes.
Kagome sighed, "Kouga, will you never learn?" she closed her eyes slightly in frustration and in exaustion, not from the battle but from the never ending struggle not to hurt Kouga's feeling and keeping him away, "I've a job to do."
"I can help, you don't need the dog turd! I'm much stronger and faster than him!" Kouga retorted a scowl evident on his face.
Inuyasha's growl was heard over the feild, "DIDN'T YOU HEAR HER? I'M THE ONE WHO HAS TO HELP HER!"
Both ignored the raging hanyou.
"Even so, there are things about me you couldn't possibly understand. Besides, with Inuyasha I've got a handle on things. I can controle him if he gets out of controle, but you?" her words stung Kouga worse than a thousand of the deadliest poison bee's sting!
"If you don't think me a fiting mate," Kouga said looking down and letting go of Kagome's hands, "then I'll give up." his voice sounded on the verge of tears, did he really care about her that much?
"No! No, that's not it Kouga! I just can't, you understand don't you?" Kagome didn't want to see the poor boy in such a state, it wasn't in her nature to let anything be hurt. She had to make him feel better.
Kouga hid his smirk and continued on with his pained look, "Then you'll come with me?" he asked his vioce full of false pain and real hope.
"No Kouga, I can't now." Kagome hoped that would help.
Kouga smiled now, "I'll come for you later Kagome!" he yelled abruptly.
"N- No-" Kagome retorted, but it was to late, Kouga was already gone.
A growl was heard in the backround. Like fuck Inuyasha'd let Kouga come back for Kagome!
