The footsteps echoed slowly through the passageway. In a chamber with a giant futon a tall man sat on crimson sheets. His body shadowed so you could only see piercing, icy, gold eyes and long silver hair that looked like moonbeams in what little light the single candle provided. He quietly looked up as a beautiful woman entered. The woman was short but graceful. Her long, wavy, black hair swayed as she walked and dark sapphire eyes glinted in the dim light. She looked calmly at her companion and shifted slightly in her kimono. The red dragons decorating her kimono brightly standing out against the pure black. She calmly looked at him and opened her crimson lips "It is time to get our revenge, Sesshoumaru." The dog demon looked up at her coldly glaring at her. "Kagome, you should know by now to not order me. Do you wish to be punished?" his icy voice rang out as he swiftly stood. If it was possible Kagome's pale skin got even paler as she looked up at him before bowing her head. Kagome's crimson lips lifted into a tiny scowl will her sapphire eyes turned stormy blue with hatred. "Of course not, my Lord, I was not thinking clearly." she spoke quietly hiding the spite in her voice. "Good", he replied while smirking "Now come along my ajin. It is time to do your job." Kagome quietly got up and followed.

Later that night Kagome laid beside Sesshoumaru thinking about how she became Sesshoumaru's bed-warmer.

FLASHBACK

"Wench wake up!" Kagome was rudely awakened by Inuyasha's voice. She growled surprisingly good for a human. "What now!" she yelled back at him wishing he would let her sleep for once. Her eyes widened when she saw Kikyou and Sesshoumaru behind him. "What is going on?" she whispered fearfully. By Inuyasha's smirk she knew it was something bad and since Sango and Miroku were out exterminating demons and Shippo was with Keade she knew no one could help her. "Well wench, the bastard her wanted to make a deal you go with him and I get shards. Now Kikyou can search for shards in your place." Kagome was surprised, not at the fact Inuyasha invited Kikyou to replace her, in fact she expected it to some extent, but the fact that Sesshoumaru wanted her. Kagome looked at Inuyasha angrily "I refuse to be treated like an object you can sell off to the highest payer. I'm going home, you and the clay bitch can go to hell for all I care, but I will not stand to be treated like this!" After the heart felt speech (during which she was packing up while Inuyasha stared stupidly at her and Kinkyho was staring hungrily at Sesshoumaru (A.N What a good little whore! SHE WILL DIIIIIEEE!! HAHAHA! Sorry.) while Sesshoumaru looked hungrily at Kagome with a hint of amusement in his amber eyes.) When Sesshoumaru realized his Kagome was leaving (more like stomping off) he quickly ran and pinched the back of her neck. Cradling Kagome bridal style in his arms he quickly ran to his palace.

Ever since the night Sesshoumaru raped her and marked her as his mate, saying since she was the Shikon Miko she was more powerful than any demoness and could bear full-blooded pups, she was forced to be the perfect mate or be beaten. Sesshoumaru promised she would get her revenge on the mutt and whore as soon as Naraku was dead. It was now time. Soon she would kill the mutt and his mate and go

back to the hell known as being Sesshoumaru's mate. With that last thought Kagome slipped into unconsciousness.

"Kagome, it is time to wake the children. Go get them up and ready I need to get ready for the meeting." Sesshoumaru ordered while getting up and moving to his personal springs. "Yes, Sesshoumaru." Kagome whispered quietly. Getting up she decided to take a quick trip to the hot springs. After her bath, she quickly donned a silk light blue kimono. Quietly walking down the halls, she realized exactly how submissive she had become. 'Being beaten into submission for two straight years will change a person I guess.' Kagome thought disturbingly amused. Coming to the children's personal hallway, which consisted of two nursery's, three playrooms, and the rest optional bedrooms for however many kids they had. The good thing was it wasn't far for it branched off of the Lord's and Lady's hallway, which consisted of there bedroom, sitting room, personal hot springs one for the Lady and one for the Lord, there personal study and Library. Stopping at the first door she knocked. "Rin, wake up sweetie it's time for breakfast." Moving on she knocked on Shippo's door and repeated the same message. She walked calmly toward the nursery and entered. Hearing cooing noises she smiled slightly and walked to the crib. "Hello my little puppy, How are you today! You've been good haven't you. Not escaping once from your bed did you Inutaishio?" Kagome cooed picking up the toddler. "Soon you will be talking, according to you father. Then he will be teaching you how to fight." she sighed. 'I really wish he would wait till he was six or seven, but since he started to be taught at three how to fight he told me , more like demanded, inutashio be taught at three also' Kagome sighed at the depressing thought that her little boy would be forced to grow because his father was.

Kagome laughed lightly while watching rin and shippo tourcher Jaken. Rin had grown taller and developed nicely. You could already tell she would be a great beauty and in Sesshoumaru's words a heart breaker like her adopted mother. Kagome knew that comment to the kids would be taken as love but to any one who knew there situation would realize it was just a statement to flaunt his ownership of her. She quickly turned her thoughts from that trail and looked at shippo. Shippo had grown taller and grew a little more muscular but still had a slight childish air about him. Kagome knew soon it would be gone as Sesshoumaru continued training him. She glanced at Sesshoumaru who had been silent the whole time. He sat there watching Jaken being tourchered with a slight smirk. Inutashio grunted and snapped Kagome from her thoughts. Kagome smiled down at him and watched him reach for he pieces of raw meat on her plate. "Are you hungry Inutashio? " She asked in a wistful tone before picking up a piece and handing it to him. He quickly took it from her hand sniffed it and looked up at her with those amber eyes of innocence. Kagome brushed his silver hair back and nodded. Inutashio then quickly popped it in his mouth and began to chew. "Daddy, can me and Shippo be excused to go play in the garden." Rin asked with her puppy dog eyes on full blast. Sesshoumaru sighed and sternly said "You may, but Shippo remember you have training with me in thirty minutes." Shippo looked up "Yes, Father" He replied as him and rin got up. "Kagome" Sesshoumaru looked at her to see Inutaisho finished eating "follow them and watch them, plus I think Inutashio could use some air." Kagome looked up then bowed her head " Yes, mate" she got up and carried Inutashio out to the gardens as guards bowed and Shippo and Rin ran ahead. "Do not go out of my sight, if we are needed inside I need to be able to tell you and I can't do that if I can't see you." Kagome explained when she got questioning looks from her children. "Yes, Mamma" They replied and took off.

They had been outside for about an hour when a maid came up to Kagome. "Excuse me, Milady, but the Lord said it was time for the Princes' nap." she timidly stated. Kagome snapped from her thoughts and looked at the timid maid "Yes, Thank You for putting him down to sleep" she politly responded. The maid blushed, she was knew and had heard that the Lady was nice and an Angel compared to her mate, but it was different from hearing it and experiencing it. "O-Of course Milady."she picked up the sleeping boy up and hurried off to put him down for a nap.

"Mamma! Mamma!" Shippo and Rin yelled running towards her. "Yes?" she asked curiously. "look what we found!" Rin yelled excited. "Coming" she got up and walked after them. Kagome saw them looking at a small door covered in vines. "Oh my" Kagome stated. She felt a little adventurous today but did not want the children to get hurt. "It is probably nothing. Oh it is time for you to go spare with your father shippo and rin you need to attened to your studys." The children sighed but obeyed."Yes mama" they stated in unison and rushed off to there dutys. 'Now the children will not get hurt, time to explore' Kagome thought and opened, with some effort, the stone door. (A.N The majority of the rest of this chap. Is from

Haishin no Tenshi So kudos to her for letting me use her idea!)

She appeared to be in a stone tunnel that slowly but surely sloped downward. It was just the right size for her to walk through, but if Sesshoumaru tried to get through, he would have some difficulties.

After walking a ways there were stone steps before her and with each step she took, more rock clusters lit themselves in front of her and faded out as she walked past while she continued to head down the stone steps. The miko continued downward, when the stairs suddenly stopped and the path turned sharply left. Kagome continued onward for a few more minutes, but soon found her self standing in front of a wall.

Now she was confused. But wait, there was something etched into the stone in front of her. Kagome quickly looked over the little scratches to find that they were words, or more precisely, a riddle.

I heal, I break,

I love, I hate,

I start, I end,

I shatter, I mend,

I'm eternally bound,

I make but one sound.

What am I?

Kagome stared at the words written on the wall. To say, she was very puzzled. What can do all of those things, yet only make one sound? She reread the riddle over and over in her head as she sat slumped against the wall under one of the glowing rock clusters thinking.

Then it hit her like a ton of bricks. She smiled softly while standing back up. She spoke in a hushed voice, "A heart."

The instant she spoke her answer, the words flashed for an instant and the wall began to part. The wall soon stopped moving and Kagome cautiously stepped forward. She stopped once on the other side of the slab. More gears could be heard as the entrance closed behind her. Her only problem was the lack of light.

The miko stared about for a moment, hoping for something to happen. Nothing did.

"Well isn't this just great. I'm stuck underground and only Kami-sama knows were and I can't see my own hand in front of my face." Kagome then sighed and sat down on the ground, "Where is the light when you need it?" She asked know one in particular.

The miko sat their pondering what to do when she abruptly stated, "Duh, I could use my miko powers!"

She then carefully got up and focused her powers into her hand. An instant later, a small pinkish purple orb the size of a golf ball was floating in her hand, giving off a phosphorescent glow. It wasn't much, but now she could see a good ways away from her person.

Kagome looked down to see a small stone path under her feet and it disappeared back into the darkness, were her light could not reach. Shrugging, she decided to follow the path to see where it led.

She walked silently down the path until something rustled behind her. Spinning her body around, Kagome found nothing there.

Was someone down here or was it just her imagination? Kagome also had the strange feeling the she was being watched. She cautiously turned back around and began heading forward down the little path, still clutching her little orb as if it were her lifeline.

As she continued onward, the strange presence dissipated and the sound of trickling water could be heard ahead of her. She quickened her pace to find the source and she soon came to a small fountain which the path encircled and then ended.

Kagome walked up to the little basin of water and peered at it curiously. The fountain itself was rather small, only reaching up to her waist and it honestly looked more like a birdbath, with the exception of the little trickle of water that sprouted from the middle. The odd thing was that there was a little sake (AN: Sake means alcohol......last time I checked it did anyway) dish floating on top of the water, moving about with the current.

Oddly enough, Kagome found her self thirsty. The water looked crystal clear so she assumed it was safe to drink. Carefully, she plucked the dish from the fountain with her unused hand and filled it with the liquid provided. She brought it to her lips and downed the little beverage quickly. Licking her lips Kagome set the dish back into the pool. But just as she did so, the fountain stopped and all was silent around her.

Kagome didn't like the vibe she was getting from was eerie silence around her. She continued to hold her ball of light, waiting for something to happen. Her eyes darted back and forth, hoping to find anything strange while her ears continued to strain for any sound. But the only thing she could hear was the pounding of her heart and the occasional crackle or snap from her miko energy.

There was that feeling again. Being watched but can't see who's watching. O' how she hated it when she didn't know who was spying on her. She turned around again, looking to see if anyone was behind her, but once again found no one. When she turned back toward the fountain, she almost screamed.

A ghostly figure appeared floating above the fountain where the water had stopped, as if they themselves had come from it. She was pale and had beautiful Blue eyes. Her long silver hair dropped to her knees pale against the white kimono she was wearing. "Congratulations, you have managed to get into my secret garden. I'm the former Lady of the Wester lands, Yumi"(A.N I made her name up I have no clue what she looks like besides a black and white pic of her and I don't know her name)She floated down in front of Kagome. "Milady." Kagome stated bowing respect. Yume smiled "now young one I have been watching you and I must say I'm very disappointed in my son. He knows the heartache I went through with his father and yet he treats his mate the same way. Just remember if you need to get away or some one to talk to your welcome here and I will forever be here in the garden." With that said she dissaperd. All the sudden a bright light shot out from were Yume had dissapeared and blinded Kagome then as quickly as it came it left and Kagome gasped in awe of what appeared.

For starters, it was huge! It looked like a mini forest in a giant cave! Actually, that's what it was. And yes, this is all in a giant cave. How the plants grew around in the carved out space, Kagome would never know, but it was still beautiful. There was an exponential species of flowers, ferns, shrubs, and plants all around the two females as a small stream trickled its way here and there and eventually formed a small pool a ways off from her current location. The lush green grass sprouted from the ground (Kagome would never know how grass can grow out of solid rock) and magnificent trees grew around her, towering upwards and some almost scraping the caves ceiling.

The little stone path Kagome had discovered wound its way about, and broke off in numerous places, leading all around the garden. In fact, from where she was, Kagome herself was probably in the very center of the garden. The small fountain also seemed to be elevated a bit, which allowed Kagome to see almost the entire idyllic garden around her.

Kagome wondered all the sudden were the light came from.

Looking up Kagome scanned the rock ceiling above her. As she looked around, she noticed a large cluster of strange rocks directly above her head. It had a phosphorus glow to it as it gave off the light, but it wasn't a strain on her eyes as she gazed at it. After further examining the light source Kagome stated,'Thats moonstone Just like the stones on the walls when I walked down here that lit the path.' Kagome thought to herself.

Kagome wondered how she would get out since the wall closed behined her. Leaning to rest at the pond, she slipped and fell in feeling the current dragging her with it she fought but soon tired and let it take her with it.Kagome was pushed along down the dark water way in fright. But she soon forgot her fears as the ride became, well fun! The abrupt twists and turns and occasional drops reminded her of a water slide. A few times, the tunnel would open into another small cave, letting her see for a spilt second. However, Kagome would simply be whisked back away by the current before she could look at them.

After a moment, Kagome could see a bright light at the end of the straight shot of tunnel. Just as she was upon the light, she shut her eyes as tightly as possible, hoping her landing would be soft.

She shot out of the tunnel and into the air. But just as she was in the air, she fell, landing in a pool of warm water. Actually, steaming water would be more accurate.

She opend her eyes and she saw she was in her private hot springs. Looking down she relized somthing that in her two years of living here she had not discovered. There was a hole, deep down to were most would not notice unless you really look. Kagome gasped in amazment and scolded her self for being so oblivious. "What are you doing in the hotsprings with your kimono on?" Looking up Kagome saw Sesshoumaru standing at the edge with a raised eyebrow. Not wanting to reveal her new hiding spot she quickly told him half the truth, knowing he would smell the lie. "I was watching the kids and they found a hole. After checking that out I decided to take a bath scince I was dirty and slipped in." she quickly explained looking down.

Sesshoumaru looked at her suspicious but decided she would not lie to him. "Very well. The kids are done with there studys and Inutashio is awake. Go tend to them." he orderd. "Yes milord." Kagome said and with a slight smile he hadn't seen in years walked out of the room. 'Hmm, she is never happy unless she is with the children. I wonder.' Sesshoumaru peered over the edge of the hot spring, never knowing his mother's spirit was watching and hid the exit from him. 'The young woman deserves some happiness and having a place to get away from my son will do just that.' she firmly decided watching with a broken heart while her son left the room. 'I guess it was to much to ask you not to be like your father.' she sighed and vanished.
