Annoyance: The Beginning

Annoyance: The Beginning

He was annoyed.

Extremely annoyed.

In fact, he hadn't felt this annoyed since Inuyasha was born.

And that was saying something.

Silver-white hair glistened in the fading sunlight. The warm summer breeze ruffled his flawless white kimono and lifted his bangs away from his handsome face. The last rays of the sun reflected off his cool, unmoving eyes as stars began to dot the darkening sky. He suppressed a sigh and surveyed his territory.

Nothing.

Absolutely nothing.

It would not have bothered him if this nothingness had resulted from something he had done, but that was not the case.

Naraku.

That vile half-breed had frightened almost every living thing in his lands into seclusion.

And he did not like it.

Not one bit.

He could not do his duties as Lord of these lands if there was nothing to be Lord of.

It was irritating.

He didn't like being irritated.

Then the hanyou had the audacity to hide like a coward in a castle surrounded by thick miasma. He truly had no honor.

None.

Then again, what else was he supposed to expect from a disgusting half-breed like Naraku?

Suppressing yet another sigh, he turned on his heel and strode back into the forest. Indeed, what else could he expect? He had met the hanyou only once, after he had lost his arm to Inuyasha.

Inuyasha.

Yet another half-demon he had the misfortune of knowing.

Was he doomed to be forever haunted by these weaklings?

And if it hadn't been for Inuyasha's wench, he would still have both arms, and, even though he could not hold the Tetsuaiga, it would have been better off in his father's tomb than in the half-breed's possession. That impudent girl had had the nerve to pull his father's sword from his grave, when he, his own son, could not do so, and give it to the hanyou.

He sighed.

He was also at fault.

Perhaps if he had not underestimated his opponent and had not been so overconfident, he would still possess both his arms. In fact, if he wasn't so angry about losing the Tetsuaiga, he would applaud the girl for standing up to him.

She was either extremely brave, or extremely stupid.

Probably stupid.

But she was pretty.

He froze on the spot.

Pretty?

Since when did he think human priestesses were pretty?

So, he had finally lost it.

He'd been wondering when it would happen.

Resuming his steps, he continued walking through the woods. Maybe he was just tired. He doubted that he would lose his mind.

After all, he was Lord of the Western Lands.

He was Killing Perfection.

He was Sesshoumaru.

~~~*~~~
Fear.
It was a basic human instinct.
One that she had never truly felt before.
Until now.
After being faced with death when Sesshoumaru attacked her with his poison claws, she was seeing everything in a whole new light. The sky was bluer, the grass was greener, and she had learned a great life lesson:
Never mess with an inu taiyoukai.
Ever.
And here she had thought Inuyasha had a bad temper.
This could very well be the first time in her life she had felt true fear.
Then again, she hadn't been in this era for very long.
Most likely there were other things, creatures, more frightening than Sesshoumaru.
But she doubted it.
She seriously doubted it.
She sighed, watching the moon's reflection on the lake water.
Well, even though he did try to kill her, she still felt extremely guilty about Sesshoumaru losing his arm. She could understand where he was coming from. More than likely he felt that his pure bloodline had been tainted by Inuyasha, and felt that he was unworthy to wield such a great sword.
Yeah, she understood.
But that didn't mean she was going to cross him again.
No way.
She sighed again, glancing back up at the moon before standing and walking down the trail that led to camp. At least she had Inuyasha to protect her.
Ok, so that wasn't great reassurance, but she was pretty sure he would keep Sesshoumaru from killing her.
For now.
She giggled suddenly as she remembered the look of shock on Sesshoumaru's face when she had emerged unscathed from the mound of melted bone that had collapsed on her.
She would have laughed at the time if he hadn't just tried to kill her.
She giggled again.
She was either really brave or really stupid.
Probably stupid.
Her thoughts wondered back to the taiyoukai.
Even though he was a ruthless killer, he was extremely handsome.
She paused in mid-step.
Handsome?
Since when did she think murderous youkai Lords were handsome?
Her eyes glazed over.
Yep.
Tall frame, killer body, gold eyes, silver hair.
He could put a god to shame.
She shook her head quickly.
She was a schoolgirl!
She was human!
She was Kagome!
