Kagome rolled over in her sleeping bag, and starred up at the lighting night, this was her new "Feudal Era." Her huge back yard. She went back time to time but since her "relationship," if you could call it that, with Inuyasha had ended she had to get away. She only went back to see Sango and Miroku. Having brought Shippo with her so they could at least be together.

She hadn't been able to sleep much since she left two months ago. She was finally getting over her unrequited love for Inuyasha. She realized that her love for Inuyasha was puppy love. Funny, considering she learned in demon lives he was still a puppy, but for that bitch he seemed to not follow that phrase. Puppy Love, Gods what do they know. Sighing out loud she hugged Shippo closer to her. They had been trying to sleep outside to help with the setting. Shippo having loved the out doors and she would do anything for him. He was her life line, her everything, and he was all that mattered.

She gently pulled out of the sleeping bag as too not wake Shippo. Making sure he was still covered she stretched her body high then walked into the house, her eyes were hurting and she knew it was because she hasn't been able to sleep. Her eye lids where heavy and her big chocolate eyes were bloodshot and felt as though they were going to fall out. Great, my eyes are red again, I can tell. People are going to start thinking I have pink eye.

Kagome was angry already with how things were going. People were scared to talk to her at school because she had been "sick" so much they don't want to "catch" the bugs. Morons, like I would be aloud in school if I was contagious, if I was sick in the first place.

Once in the kitchen she walked over and grabbed some Ramen and made two bowls. She knew her son. He'd be up in around five minutes, giving it enough time to cool. Placing water into the bowl she placed it into the microwave and cooked it. She had just sat it down on the table when she heard him.

"Maaa!"

"In the kitchen." Kagome sighed, she couldn't believe it took her so long to see why the "relationship" wasn't working the way she imagined, then she realized what she should have known so long ago, Kikyou. He was in love with Kikyou still, that's why it never worked right. Even when they had defeated Naraku and Kikyou had once again returned to dirt and all the young womans souls released, Inuyasha still couldn't see her.

"Mama, why did you get up early?" Shippo was upset, he knew his mama was sad but he didn't know how to help. He just had hope that everything would work out in the end.

Kagome refocused her sore eyes, "To make you food, silly!" She chuckled. " I want you to go wash your hands before you eat."

Shippo stood from the chair he had plopped down on and walked through the house, they were always up earlier then the rest of the family. He didn't know why but he didn't mind. It gave himself and his mama some time to themselves to play, cuddle and talk.

Kagome sighed and went back to her thoughts. Inuyasha always looked to her as a replacement for Kikyou she knew, but she had felt so attached to him she couldn't help from allowing him to yell at her. But then one day she started to fight back. She remembered that so clearly, it was about Shippo.

flashback---

Kagome stood with Shippo tightly in her embrace to protect him from the chilly breeze, the wind coiling around her form and pushing her hair in her face, she was wearing her uniform with a pair of pants underneath the skirt.

"KAGOME! GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE RIGHT NOW!" They knew that holler. It was Inuyasha.

Kagome whispered to Shippo to run back to Keada's hut to sit with the rest of the gang and gave him a kiss on his forehead and hugged him close. She watched as he raced away, getting halted sometimes by the wind. But then Inuyasha stood in his path and picked him up by the back of his shirt.

"Kagome, why do you spend so much time with this runt. He is useless. You need to be spending time with me." He snarled and shook Shippo around when he said runt.

"Inuyasha!" She screamed and darted forward, "Put Shippo down!" She held out her arms for Inuyasha to put Shippo into them but he didn't he continued to hold him.

"INUYASHA! LET ME GO!" Shippo had started to scream and kick around, trying to hit him."MAMA! HELP ME!"

"Don't tell me you have taken him in as your own! Kagome, you need to spend time with me. That's what Kikyou did, so you will to!" Inuyasha snarled

"SIT!" she screamed. She watched angrily as he fell to the ground, she picked up Shippo and put a barrier around him and told him to go. Nodding his head, he did.

"Inuyasha! Shippo is my son and you know that, I love him as if he were my own and you will not be able to make me give him up."

"Maybe that's why I always liked Kikyou more then you, she didn't have that little runt around all the time, and spent time alone with me and we did many things together!"

"Shippo is not a runt! He is a child a beautiful child that I call my own. As for spending time with you, I do! You're just mad because I won't have sex with you!"

"I know why you won't have sex with me because you're too busy with that runt. Well I got needs and if you want to keep me then you better start satisfying, Kikyou would. And here you claim to love me. All your love is for that little runt!"

Kagome's eyes grew wide, "I will not have sex with you, I am NOT Kikyou, and I do love Shippo, but loving Shippo is a different love then the love I thought I had for you! I am not a whore for you to use to satisfy yourself. And Shippo is not a runt!"

With that Kagome turned around and stormed off and as she turned she let out one loud scream. "SIT!" and smirked when she felt the ground vibrate and heard him smash to the ground in pain.

end of flashback---

Shippo came back in and started to eat his Ramen at a quick pace, Splashing his seasoned water which the noodles were soaking in everywhere but never missing a noodle. When he was done, he licked his lips and rubbed his stomach, "Mmm Mama that's was good!"

Kagome smiled at him and opened her arms wide. Shippo ran at her and jumped. Still, small he cuddled into her chest and she closed her arms around him, being careful for his tail. " I'm glad you liked it. We are going to take a bath when I'm done eating okay?"

Shippo nodded his head and walked to their room leaving Kagome by herself. She was so tired it was killing her and she knew it wasn't healthy to not have sleep and she wasn't getting much of it. Slowly eating her soup she thought of how Inuyasha never believed in her, he always had to protect his little "Jewel Detector," because she couldn't herself. That was all she ever wanted was to be able to defend herself but he wouldn't teach her any techniques because she wasn't "smart" enough to learn them and it was useless because she wouldn't be any good anyway. Stupid Jerk, I don't even see him anymore and look at me. I'm a mess. I need to get over him!

That was the day she stopped, they didn't even need to be traveling they just where, Miroku and Sango had gotten married finally and were settled down in Keada's village and Inuyasha, she and Shippo kept on traveling. But after awhile she got tired of being called useless and being compared to Kikyou, she got tired of him yelling at Shippo for nothing so she packed her yellow bag up and headed out with Shippo in her arms.

She knew Shippo couldn't handle the fights. Neither could she.

She had to leave, if not for herself but for her son. Even though she knew she couldn't handle it anymore either. She had waited, waited patiently for Inuyasha to fall asleep then she packed her bags, rolled her sleeping bag and put a barrier around herself and Shippo. Strapping her pack onto her back, she had picked up Shippo gently her hands stroking his back lovingly to keep him calm in his sleep.

They had left in the dead of night, the only protection her bow, arrows, and barriers. Nothing had attacked them though. Surprisingly, nothing at all.

Now she was on her own, well she had Shippo but she no longer had someone to protect her and she was happy. To her the world was huge and awaited her to finally step into it without someone else blocking the view of everything going on around her. Inuyasha . . .

Her and Shippo had made it back to the well within three days time, and each minute they were without Inuyasha was getting better. It was so much better they could walk and talk all they wanted without Inuyasha saying something, something mean and terrible to them or hurting them mentally, physically, or emotionally.

"Ma, can we go to the park for a little bit? Please oh please, please, please, pleeeaasssee!" Shippo begged coming into the kitchen interrupting Kagome's train of thought.

Kagome looked at her son, and stood up with her empty bowl of food, placing it into the sink she replied, "after our bath."

Shippo nodded his head and jumped onto his mothers shoulder and kissed her on the cheek. He watched as she smiled. It made him happy knowing he could make his mommy happy. He stayed on her should until she went into the bathroom. Jumping down he watched as she drew the bath water and put in some bubbles and a rubber duck for him. Stripping out of his clothes he jumped into the bath while the water was filling the tub.

Kagome chucked at her sons antics. They had always bathed together in the Feudal Era, and he was having a hard time growing out of it. But she knew that he would soon, she was "weaning" him as some people called it, slowly easing him out of the habit. She stripped of her clothes and got in the bath and watched as he played with the yellow duck and the bubbles. After about 10 minutes she told him that it was time to wash his hair in the shower. She unplugged the bath and waited for most of the water to drain, she stood and the water ran quickly down her body, turning on the hot water she stepped underneath the shower head and washed her hair, grabbing Shippo she washed his hair as well. Finally after making him rinse is body and she rinsed hers they stepped out of the shower and dried off, Kagome brought him into her room, which they shared and they got dressed into some clean clothes.

They walked downstairs and wrote a note for her mother, telling her that they had gone to the park, and that she would clean up the dishes and stuff later.

Putting on some shoes and masking Shippo as a human, they walked out of the house hand in hand. In his human form Shippo was about 3 feet tall, short for his age, and had red/brown hair with green eyes. He was slim and seemed very well behaved. As they walked to the park they got many strange looks. But Kagome didn't care. She could have taken the easy path, the one where she never brought Shippo with her to the future, but she would never do that as long as she lived she would take the harder path, the path that always if you finished it had a good ending.

At first they stares that she got had upset her. Was it wrong to have children? She soon realized that she was only 18 years old and her son looked to be around six years old making her only 12 when she had him, if she had but really she had adopted him. Many people had asked her and at first she made sure that she clarified that she had adopted him but then she soon realized that it was upsetting him that she would say that so she didn't, she said he was hers and that was it. Soon everyone had gotten over it and started to leave her alone. But it was awkward at first.

She had begun to feel better when they arrived at the park. She pushed Shippo on the swings and played on the teeter tauter with him and in the sand box. She made sure he had a good time. And she realized that finally after two months it was finally feeling better without Inuyasha, it took two months until she could finally say she was feeling better that she didn't have to go home to Inuyasha.

She could never really understand, why he was so mean, and so messed up. He was so weird it was crazy. Though he was mostly mean. 'I can't believe I thought I loved that guy. He is such a bastard.'

She couldn't handle him. He was way out of control. She liked the bad guys a little but she wasn't obsessed with them and she didn't like being called a bitch. She just couldn't live in the world he had created for her and her son. The environment was terrible. Every day it got worse, and every day, she wanted to leave him that much more.

"Ma! Look at our castle its so awesome! It kinda looks like Sesshomaru's! Ma? MA!" Shippo blabbered then realized that she wasn't listening and began to yell, waving his arms in front of her face she looked at him soon. She had heard him, but as soon as he said Sesshomaru she thought of him and how gorgeous he was. 'Bad 'Gome bad!'

'He must have been so lonely all by himself in that huge castle, I feel so bad for him. Then Rin, human, dying while he is still considered young. The poor man. I wish I could help out that gorgeous man. Bad 'Gome bad! Look at me I'm blushing and my brain is in the gutter. He tried to KILL me!'

" Yes Shippo it sure does look like Sesshomaru's castle. Interesting, that we would build a sand castle to look like his castle. Hmm" Kagome rattled on, not realizing she was speaking out loud. " Maybe it's a sign that we are going to meet again or something."

" Meet who again ma?"

" Oh nothing. Well lets go home now."

"Will we ever get our own home?"

"Yup I graduate this year then I will get us a house or apartment."

"HOUSE!"

' I'm not going to be coming home to you Inuyasha. I'll be going home to my son. Cause if I took the simple dirt road meaning go back to the Feudal era for you, then I wouldn't be me.'

Kagome gently stood from the sand pit and grabbed her son by the hand and they walked out of the park and back to their home. Both with content smiles on their faces. One of them thinking about how a certain someone would be alone for a very, very long time and the other happy that his mother was finally happy.

Kagome's hair whipped around her face as the wind blew, but the sun still managed to shine through the cold and wind. ' Inuyasha you will never rain on me again. You will never take it upon yourself to ruin my life. You can't make it rain on everyone and you will never rain on me again.'

**** 2 months later****

Kagome had graduated! Finally she was able to move out of her mother and grandfathers house and live in her own house with her son. She hugged her son close to her and picked him up. "Shippo baby! We can get our own house now."

Shippo smiled down at his mama, "YAY!" His smile was huge and bright . . . mirroring that of Kagome's.

****3 months later****

" Shippo. We've finally unpacked the last box. We have completely moved into our new house!" Kagome said excitedly to her son.

"Yay! It only took us how long? Two months?" Shippo said rolling his eyes at her.

"Oh you be quiet it's your fault you kept changing the room you wanted."

The house was a nice size, not big but not small, more then enough room for the two of them, there were three bedrooms, a kitchen, living room, bathroom and a basement. The basement also had a kitchen, living room, bathroom and a storage room. To her the house was perfect. It was all that she ever wanted to have with her son and hopefully a husband.

That night, Kagome and Shippo slept in new beds, under new sheets and in a brand-new house. They both new that something amazing was going to happen. Something that would change them forever.

****5 years later****

A woman was walking down the halls of a large building known as Tama Inc. She wore a white blazer that hung loosely outside of her pants that where tight around the ass and loose the rest of the way down and where a dark brown/ black colour. Her hair was pulled back into a low ponytail at the base of her neck and had a few loose hairs framing her face.

" Hello, Ms. Higurashi." A woman sitting behind a counter said politely. She had light brown hair and brown eyes.

" Hello, Koharu. How are you?" Ms.Higurashi replied.

" Not bad yourself?"

" I've been better, my car broke down, my son sprained his ankle and these proofs did not come out as well as expected." She said letting out a sigh.

" I'm sure your son will be fine, your car fixed and your proofs perfect." Koharu said with reassurance.

" Thanks. But I must get in there now to show them." She said, waving her hand toward the double doors behind Koharu's desk.

" Of course, I'll just let him know you're here." Picking up the phone, she dialed into the office. " Sir, Ms. Higurashi is here. Okay sir. Bye." She said finishing the conversation. Hanging up the phone, she turned to Ms. Higurashi. " He says to go in."

" Thank you again." She said with a big smile.

" Not a problem."

Kagome walked past Koharu's desk in knocked on the doors. Waiting a few seconds she opened the doors and walked in. Closing the door behind her, she took a seat opposite the man behind the desk.

" Ah Kagome. It has been a long time since we last spoke. How are you?" A deep voice asked. The man had long silver hair and gold eyes. On his forehead was a blue crescent moon and on each cheek there were two maroon strips.

" Ah Sesshomaru, I'm fine. Yourself?" She answered with a gentle smile. She still remembered walking into this office two years ago and nearly having a heart attack. There he sat, looking as regal as he had in the past. His face was set into his emotional mask and he eyes cold the first thing he had said to her was, "'Wench, how are you still living?"'

Kagome sat down in his office for almost four hours, both explaining to each other what had happened and why.

Kagome spoke to him about how she traveled through time and he spoke about how he had changed his name and faked his own death to make himself appear human. They had gotten off to a good start. They put the past behind them and started a new friendship that day. It has had its advantages as well.

She had become a famous interior designer. Sesshomaru had made that happen. He needed some rooms redone and asked her. After he recommended her to other of his business associates and it brought her to the top. Kagome had got him more agreeable to woman. He had told her that he was looking for a mate. He was at a good time in his life to have a mate in a family but he couldn't communicate well with woman. Kagome made it easier for him. Designed him a room that was more welcoming than cold. Instructed him on how to act if he wanted to befriend any of them.

Now he had a beautiful girlfriend. They were perfect for each other but Kagome couldn't help but feel Sesshomaru did not feel as strongly about her as he let on.

Kagome had gone home after showing Sesshomaru the proofs. He had asked her if she thought it was time to ask Sara to be his wife. Kagome didn't know what to say. Then it had hit her. The reason why she felt Sesshomaru was not in love with Sara as he led on. She was in love with him. She nearly fainted.

Kagome's skin turned deathly pale and her breathing became ragged. She couldn't believe it, not again. She was not falling in love with a man who was already committed. She closed her eyes and counted to ten to help regulate her breathing.

When he had asked what was wrong she didn't give him a answer. She just told him she had to leave. Ignoring his question, she walked swiftly out of the office. Her hand over her heart and her head downcast. Koharu tried to ask her what was wrong when she nearly ran to the elevator that was beginning to close.

As soon as Kagome got back to her house she ran to her room and closed the door. She flung her self onto the bed and curled up into a little ball. She could not believe it. She wouldn't. She tried to convince her self as she choked back her tears. She was not falling for a man who was with someone else. She would not allow it. Her heart couldn't handle it.

As she lay there crying, she had decided she had to stop all communication with Sesshomaru, and as she thought this her heart began to break.
