Chapter 1
Where Are We?
Brown eyes watched the scene in front of her in fear and worry. Kagome clutched her backpack as she chewed at her lower lip. Sango, Miroku and Shippo were standing behind her, worry in their eyes. The gang was half way to Kaede’s village when Inuyasha took out Tetsusaiga, saying that he had smelled Sesshoumaru. Sure enough, the Lord of the Western Land appeared, and the battle began.
Kagome was very worried right now. Inuyasha is still recovering from the battle with a large falcon youkai less than an hour ago, and the falcon had pierced a hole below Inuyasha’s right shoulder blade with its sharp talons and made numerous deep cuts on his body. With his sword arm growing increasingly weaker and the wounds that had not yet closed up, Sesshoumaru is winning.
“Inuyasha, watch out!” Kagome’s eyes widened when she saw Sesshoumaru used his demon speed to get behind Inuyasha. His sword was raised for the killing strike. But Inuyasha heard Kagome’s warning. He spun around, brought up Tetsusaiga on the last minute and knocked the blade out of his older half brother’s hand.
‘Annoying miko,’ Sesshoumaru narrowed his eyes in frustration as his hand seeks for his second sword beside his waist. He brought up Tensaiga in time to counter Inuyasha’s blow. ‘Tensaiga cannot harm, but at least it can block.’
“Inuyasha!” Kagome was already near the pair while the battle was raging on.
“Kagome! Stay away!” Inuyasha yelled.
A blinding light erupted from the connecting swords. It swayed from side to side, until it finally bounced off and engulfed Sesshoumaru and Kagome, who’s nearest to him besides Inuyasha.
“Kagome!” Shippo struggled out of Miroku’s and towards her. The taija and monk sped across the field to reach their two friends in a hurry.
“Kagome!” Inuyasha swung his sword at the light, but it bounced off like a barrier. Sesshoumaru and Kagome were within it, unable to move and stunned, trapped in the position they were in before the light surrounded them.
“Hirakitsu!” Sango swung her large boomerang towards the light. The results were the same, the weapon bounced off the light.
Another splash of light appeared next to the stunned youkai and miko. It swirled its white light within the circle, slowly swallowing up Sesshoumaru and Kagome.
“Kagome-chan!” Sango’s brown eyes laced with fear. The group watched helplessly as the portal swallowed the two in a blink of an eye. A gust of wind blew, blinding Inuyasha, Sango, Miroku and Shippo for a moment. When they were able to open their eyes, the field was empty, even Tokijin had vanished along with its master.
“Kagome…” Inuyasha fell onto his knees. Partly from exhaustion, partly from the sudden lost of his best friend. Sango followed suit. Her eyes welled up with tears. Miroku set his staff on the ground, crouched, and tried to give as much comfort to Sango as he could, but found it quite impossible since his heart was grieving as well. Shippo, however, took a different approach to this matter.
“Kagome!!!!!” Shippo wailed. He fell on his behind and sobbed.

Kagome saw only white, swirling around her as she seemingly floats down, Sesshoumaru’s beside her. They were free of the position they were before, but cannot move or talk. Then, in a flash of white, they tumbled onto soft grass.
Kagome coughed. She sat up slowly and looked towards her left. Sesshoumaru had stood up and was now looking around their surroundings. She stood up slowly and turned around.
“Where are we?” She whispered as she stared at the large courtyard. The shrine is surrounded with cherry blossom trees. The shrine itself looks ancient but sturdy; the stone made pavement was neat and tidy. The sun was shining, unlike the cloudy day in Sengouku Jidai. Sounds and commotion could be heard behind the shrine. There seems to be more than meets the eye of the shrine.
“Your guess is as good as mine wench.” Sesshoumaru growled. Where is this place? It is not his homeland, and he is stuck with Inuyasha’s woman.
“Excuse me? My name is Kagome! Ka-go-me! You know it, use it!” Kagome yelled. She immediately closed her mouth when she heard Sesshoumaru growl. Loudly.
“Very well, Ka-go-me, do you have any idea where this place is.”
“Nope.”
“Useless ningen.”
“I don’t see you faring better than myself.”
“I am always faring better than you human.”
“Why you…” Loud bells interrupted Kagome.
“INTRUDER ALERT!” Someone yelled within the shrine. A few armed people ran out of a building of what it looks like a stone temple beside the wooden shrine. The area looks peaceful and was like the olden days, but the people were all wearing modern day clothes. The group quickly circled around the two, weapons pointing at them.
“Make way! ‘scuse me, pardon me…” A line formed in front of Sesshoumaru and Kagome. The youkai growled. The miko gaped. Within the parted lines revealed a girl around 18 to 19, her hip length black hair flowed behind her. Silver gray eyes stared passively at the two strangers in front of her. She wore a very modern white t-shirt with Kawasaki logo on it (I have no idea what to put, and my badminton racket is just beside me, so I took the name off it), a pair of blue jeans and white sneakers, in her hand lay a katana, which was unsheathed and beside her.
“Speak intruders, who are you?”
“My name is Kagome Higurashi, and this is Sesshoumaru…uh…a lord.” Kagome stammered. In modern day Japan, there is no such thing as North, East, South and Western lords. So she just briefly said that he was a lord, and hoping the girl won’t ask what type.
“And we were wondering…” Kagome spoke up again when she sensed the agitated demon lord beside her.
“Where are we?”

Unfortunately, someone *glares at family friends Emily and Jason (kids)* deleted my fic from my computer and now I need to find my back up copy I saved…somewhere… … T-T
