Church Bells by anime-gurl

Truth or Dare

"Truth or Dare, Kags" Kagome's friend Sango asked her on a Sunday afternoon soon after summer vacation had started. "Umm dare" Kagome, known as Kags to her friends answered. "Ok, I dare you to..." Sango trailed off looking around for some inspiration, her eyes landing on the church across from Kagome's house "I dare you to go to church tonight" Sango finished dramatically. "What, I can't go to church, I've never gone in my life" Kagome stated. "Well, that's what makes it fun right" Sango said giggling. "Fine, but I'm going to get you back for this Sango" Kagome said glaring at her friend.

Later that night Kagome stood in her bathroom staring at her reflection in the mirror, all she knew about church was that you had to get dressed up for it and that's why she was staring at herself in the mirror. She had pulled on a denim skirt that reached her knees and a white blouse, with her denim jacket over top. She let her hair stay down as usual, but still thought that this was going to be weird. She stepped out of the bathroom and faced Sango who was sitting on her bed. When Kagome headed off to the church Sango was going to go home. They left her room and went downstairs Kagome immediately asked Sango "So when does this thing start anyway?" "20 minutes" Sango answered. I can't believe that I'm going to church this is going to be so awkward Kagome thought to herself. Well its not like it will be more then a one time thing. Go in listen to some old man or maybe a woman talk about God and come home. "Kags are you ok" she heard Sango's voice break through her thoughts. "Yeah I'm fine just thinking about tonight" Kagome said rolling her eyes.

"Ok I'll see you tomorrow" Sango said when they were standing on the sidewalk outside of the church. "You better" Kagome pretended to threaten. "Or what" Sango said teasingly. "Or else" Kagome said shaking a fist at her friend and laughing. "Bye Kags" Sango said laughing. "Bye" Kagome said as her friend walked off. She now turned to face the church doors. She walked in and at the door a woman said "Hello, is this your first time here?" "Umm yes, how did you know" Kagome asked the woman. "Oh well I hadn't seen you before and you looked kind of lost" she said. Kagome went on to have a long conversation with the woman whose name she soon learned was Jenny. Soon they were going to sit down and Jenny said that Kagome could sit with her. Needless to say Kagome was relieved that she wouldn't be all alone and having to try and figure out what she was supposed to be doing.

Kagome sat down and watched as a few people went and stood up at the front and picked up instruments. They had a guitar, a keyboard and a drum set. "Stand up and the words to the songs will show up on the projector up there" Jenny told her quietly. Kagome stood up and listened as they started to play, she looked up at the screen and saw the name of the song, it was called Waves of Grace and it was really pretty. They sang a few more songs and then they all sat down and waited for the service to begin. Soon a guy walked up on to the stage like thing at the front. She was sitting near the front and the man who had just walked to the front was breathtaking. He had long hair that he had tied back. It looked blonde, but almost silver in the light. He was starting to speak and his voice was deep and like music to her ears. She forced herself to concentrate on what he was saying rather then his amazing looks and beautiful voice.

It was about two hours later when the service ended. She stood and they all sang a few more songs. Soon Jenny told her that it was a time for talking to people. She followed Jenny around and soon found herself standing in a group of people around the man who had been speaking earlier. Finally the other people cleared out and it was just her and Jenny waiting to the man. "Hello Reverend" Jenny said to the man. Oh so he's the reverend Kagome thought to herself and he's defiantly not old or ugly. "Hello Jenny and who might this be" the reverent asked obviously referring to Kagome. "My name is Kagome Higurashi" Kagome said, while scolding herself for staring at him. She just couldn't drag her eyes away from the gorgeous man she had gotten a better look at him and noticed that his eyes were the color of liquid gold, he was wearing a suit but you could tell that he had a well sculpted body underneath. "Well hello Kagome, my name is Reverend Takahashi, it is nice to see someone your age attending the service do you plan on returning next week" he asked her. She finally pulled her gaze away from him and said "Yes I enjoyed it very much and plan to return." She stared at the floor knowing full well that she was probably blushing like a tomato, but she couldn't help it he was so attractive and he looked like he was only 20 years old or so. "Well it certainly was nice to meet you Kagome, I know this might be rather forward of me since we have just met, but you don't happen to have any secretarial skills do you" he asked her. "Well actually yes last summer I did some secretarial work for a local business" Kagome said nervously. "Oh really, you don't happen to be looking for a summer job are you" he asked. "Actually yes I am as a matter of fact" Kagome said. He looked at her and said "maybe you would be ok, with working here for the summer my secretary just quit on me and I could use someone to help me at least for the summer." "Yeah that would be great" Kagome said a bit to excitedly. "Ok come by my office tomorrow morning, say 9ish" he said with a heart melting smile that made her weak in the knees. "Ok, thanks" she said softly. "No thank you" he said extending his and shaking hers.

That night Kagome lay in bed thinking about the fact that she was going to be spending a lot of time with this amazing man.

Ok so that's the end of the first part. I will continue it if even one person reviews. Hope you liked it and again please R&R, criticism is welcomed if you have any, because I want this story to be the best that it can be.
