Chapter 1:

There was a legend about a land that was invisible. It was said to be called the Centre. The legend told of an unprecedented castle that shown of a golden light. Some say it was the light of god; others the sign of evil. But the truth was, this peculiar light was in fact produced by a powerful being that hid in the shadows. Who was this strange being? Their identity was a mystery to all...

A girl was tearing through the darkened forest. Her hair, an unusual golden color streaked with silver, flew behind her. Her perfect features where pale and wet with sweat. Her golden eyes swept the forest in front of her, as if looking for something.

'I'm going to find you again, little sister, even if it's the last thing I do!' The girl thought, her features set in determination.

'I'll find you.'

Her eyes ablaze with anger, she ran deeper into the forest.

Inuyasha turned just in time to see the Neko-Youkai they were currently fighting, charging for Kagome.

He knew he wouldn't make it to her in time; he was too far away.

"Kagome!" He yelled helplessly, as the demon's poisoned claws dove towards Kagome's unsuspecting body.

Just as the demon's claws were about to slice into Kagome's frail skin, she turned quickly and caught the youkai's claws mid-air.

With more strength then humanly possible, she turned the claws back towards their owner and plunged them deep into the demon.

As the rest of the group looked on stunned at the scene in front of them, Kagome begins to change in front of their eyes.

Her usual midnight black hair grew and changed to the same silvery shade of Sesshoumaru's hair, gold and blue streaking the silver. Out of her back grew white wings as elegant as an angel's. He nails grew into claws and her face was veiled in a golden light, making it impossible to see her face. A golden light encased her body, making her glow as if she was the source of this light.

Just as fast as it came, the strange light faded and Kagome's appearance changed back to normal.

As the light disappeared, Kagome felt a wave of exhaustion go through her and she felt herself fall, helpless to stop herself.

Coming out of their stupor, the rest of the group run towards her to help her, but to their surprise, Sesshoumaru appears and catches her before she hits the ground.

Inuyasha watched on in a daze as Sesshoumaru picks Kagome up and flies into the air on his demonic cloud. When he hears Sango and Shippou cry out for Kagome, he realizes what had just happened and watches helplessly as Sesshoumaru becomes a speck in the sky.

"What the hell! What does Sesshoumaru want with Kagome?" Inuyasha questioned.

Sango shook her head, her eyes focused on the dot in the sky that was steadily growing smaller.

"I don't care why the hell he wants her, if I find one scratch on her I'll kill him!" He growled and took off into the trees.

"Wait we're coming with you!!" Sango yelled as she jumped onto Kirara's back. She motioned for Miroku to follow. Once he was sitting behind her, Kirara took off into the air following Sesshoumaru's weakening scent.

Sesshoumaru couldn't believe he had just taking another filthy human into his care.

'But this human is her.'

He thought back to the events leading up to this.

He had been walking through the forest, on his yearly patrol of his lands, when he had caught the distasteful scent of his half brother. He had wanted to get that half-breed off of his lands and went to go find him. When he reached where the group was, he saw them fighting a Neko-demon. He watched on as the demon attacked Inuyasha's wench. He was more then a little surprised when he saw her transformation. He had stood stunned as she appeared before him once more. He knew he had to take her with him; he couldn't leave her in the care of his insolent half-breed of a brother. So when he saw her start to fall, he ran to catch her and in the last minute he decided to take her with him. He wanted to know the truth; he wanted to know who the hell she really was.

'I cannot believe I took this weak human with me; this vile creature can't possibly be her. Maybe it was my mind playing with me, maybe what I saw was not real, just something I wanted to see.'

Seeing his castle rapidly approaching, he started to slow down until he gracefully landed on the hard stone. He walked briskly up to the entrance of his domain.

'We will see if what I saw was real or not.'

He thought, his cold eyes glancing down at the sleeping girl in his arms.

'We will see if you are the real Kagome, girl.'
