The Beginning

FallenAngel: ^_^ okay, to say the truth I barely ever finish my fanfics cause they start to really...how do i put this? SUCK! T-T no matter how I don't want to admit this...yeah they suck...But I assure you I'll try my best. Like the famous one said ::cough me cough:: it's easy to read but hard to write...

Chapter One: The Beginning

Late into the dark night, a woman was gazing upon the stars. A change was sensed upon these stars though small they may very seem. This was not to go unnoticed by the young gazer. In a barely audible whisper she said " The time has come." Slowly she walked into the small hut only a couple of yards behind her. Inside this hut was a male. "Milord, she's going to be 18 in several days. Should we...?"

"No, not yet. Let's just wait for her mother to explain. She'll come to look for us. I'm sure of it.." The male stood up and walked out silently as the woman trailed behind him. Speaking only loud enough for himself he whispered " Kagome..."

"KAGOME!!!!!!!!!" yelled Inuyasha. "You can't go back NOW. We only found 4 shards during the 2 weeks. You're being so god damn useless!!" This triggered a very very sensitive nerve within Kagome. "Useless? Me? Okay, if I'm as USELESS as you say then I MIGHT as well GO." This really annoyed Kagome to no end. 'He must of thought of Kikyo again. I can never keep up to her no matter how hard I try...' Salty yet unshed tears brimmed her eyes. Inuyasha did not sense this at all being the insensitive baka he is. "Oye, Kagome get your ass back over here now! You're always like this! Why do you bother to go back for what is it again? Tests? You might as well spend that time here helping us!"

Kagome no longer paying attention just ran for the well all the while saying " OSUWARI OSUWARI OSUWARI!!!!!!!!!!!" Thus making a beautifully shaped Inuyasha crater that was at least I'd say 15 feet. Poor Inuyasha starts to mutter curses which included this. "If this was Kikyo then we'd probably have all the shards. Actually it would never have been broken. Feh!" His words stabbed her heart. The unshedded tears finally dropped. Each one landing on her white blouse staining it. She kept running all the way to the well. As she neared it inch by inch, she tripped over a small pebble on the ground. Klumph and she dropped to the floor. The tears were still running silently and she held in her sobs of sorrow. She knew deep inside that no matter how much she loved him that he would only have Kikyo inside his heart. It would never be able to hold her because she couldn't be as good as half Kikyo ever was to Inuyasha.

She made an effort to stand up and steadied herself by the edge of the well. Within a second of time she jumped over the edge back to her time. This entire time she was being watched by an unidentified male from a certain distance. 'Who dares hurt my daughter so much? When the time comes for us to reunite, I shall personally treat to this matter.' Tomorrow was Kagome's birthday so she went home to celebrate with her family a day early so tomorrow she can celebrate it here. Of course she wanted to spend a special day of her life with her best friends over in Feudal Japan. Especially with Sango and Shippo who've became her family away from home. And of course Miroku if he wasn't busy trying to molest her. And...Inuyasha who had stolen her heart away to break it over and over again. No matter what though her love for him was still as strong as ever.

Inuyasha while in the his nice snug crater finally smelled the salty tears that had fallen from Kagome's sapphire irises. 'Kami, Inuyasha why are you such a baka? You mentioned Kikyo again. You know yourself that Kagome was far better than Kikyo was to you. If it wasn't for all that was happening you would probably have asked her to be your mate already. Your heart already belongs to Kagome. The love you felt for Kikyo is long gone. Gone the second you met Kagome.' Slowly Inuyasha arose out of his crater and ran for the well. He watched as she jump before he could reach her. "Damn it...I wanted to catch up to apologize.I might have made things worse. I'd better stay around and wait for her. I just know she'd be back soon...she will be.."

As the hours past by, the hanyou's eyes began to slowly close. He could not keep them open any longer as the moon rose over the horizon after Kagome had left for 15 hours. Slowly but steadily his eyes closed. No matter how he did not want to fall asleep. ' Just for a second. I'll be awake way before she gets back.' Inuyasha falls into a deep slumber.

At home, Kagome was having some comfort with her family. She was trying hard to not have Inuyasha on her mind just for this one night. After the little party/dinner that her mother had made to celebrate her 18th birthday, she dragged Kagome to her room. Searching under her bed, she found a box that was really exquisite. It was a jewelry box. Though it seemed to be really old and antique there was something just really special about it. On the cover there was a carving of a star and a crescent moon. Her mother told her specifically to open it tomorrow when she returned to the feudal era. She also said good-bye and told her to take good care of herself. She seemed to make it look like she would never be able to come back ever again. Her younger brother Sota did the same. So did her grandfather.

Even though she was very confused, Kagome promised to open the box tomorrow. She trudged up the stairs feeling like tomorrow something really big would happen. Something that would change her very life forever. She could not just shake this feeling off thus she could not sleep. When she finally did it was already 3 in the morning. she had to wake at 7 to go back. This night was just not to be peaceful for her. For as she began to sleep, nightmares of Inuyasha and Kikyo getting back together began to plague her. Even deep into her sleep, tears slid down her face.

Finally tomorrow had arrived. Kagome awoke but not with heavy bags under her eyes. Last night she could not sleep at all and when she did she was dreaming of Kikyo and Inuyasha. She took a quick shower to wash off the sweat and try to soothe herself down so she wouldn't seem different in front of the others. Bringing the box and stuffing her bookbag with candy and ramen she left her house. Her family walked her to the well silently which was weird because they never did that. She waved good-bye and jumped through. Though a whisper she thought she heard her mother say bye Kagome...forever. As she landed on the other side, she quickly forgot about this. She climbed outside and saw Inuyasha sleeping by the well. Feeling a bit relieved that Inuyasha had waited for her to come back but she would not let him get over this easily. As she watched him sleep like a baby, she dismissed that idea. Inuyasha was so sweet when he was sleeping and did I mention cute?

After several minutes, she shook him awake. Slowly Inuyasha awoke and the smell of honey mixed with cherry blossoms entered his nose he immediately awoke. He saw Kagome in front of him and hugged her. She was really surprised but hugged him back. How she longed for him to hug her like he was doing at the current. "Kagome? I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. I didn't mean what I had said. You're way better than Kikyo was to me. You accept me unconditionally. I'm really--" Cut off by Kagome she replied "It's okay. You don't have to apologize, I understand. Really, I do." Both feeling much better than before, released their hold on each other and left to go back to the village to celebrate Kagome's birthday.

When they had arrived inside Kaede's hut, Kagome recieved a big "SURPRISE!!!!!!!" shouted Shippo,Sango and Miroku. "Happy Birthday Kagome!!" Shippo exclaimed happily. " Did you bring me candy?" Kagome laughed and said " Aren't you supposed to be getting me something? It's my birthday!" Shippo frowned and said "Oh." "But I do have your chocolate..." Kagome said slyly. "Where????" "Right here!" as Kagome dug it out of her bookbag with the box. Shippo started to eat the chocolate and began to ask what the box was. Kagome explained to them that her mother had given it to her specifically saying to open it today.

"So what are ya waiting for?" said Inuyasha. Kagome opened the box and then...
