Prologue

Sesshomaru forced Inuyasha back from Kagome and Kagome looked at Sesshomaru.

" Run wench!" Sesshomaru shouted.

Kagome looked at Sesshomaru and ran and Inuyasha turned to Sesshomaru.

" Vile half breed," Sesshomaru said.

Inuyasha growled at him and pulled Tetsusaiga out.

" Do you think I am still weak Sesshomaru?" Inuyasha questioned.

" You're a half-breed you will never be my equal!" Sesshomaru shouted charging at Inuyasha

Kagome looked around and then saw Kikyo in the distance, she raised her arrow towards Sesshomaru and Kagome shook her head.

" No!" Kagome shouted, " Sesshomaru behind you!"

Sesshomaru jumped and used his claw whip on Inuyasha pushing him back. Sesshomaru turned to Kikyo as she released the arrow then attacked the arrow knocking it away from him. He came at Kikyo, but was tackled by Inuyasha and Kagome watched as she saw Inuyasha's heart no longer belong to her, but to Kikyo.

Though Naraku had been destroyed his presence remained all around the feudal era, and it remained in the one piece that was in bedded in Inuyasha's forehead. Inuyasha was using the shard to kill Sesshomaru and to transform his powers to the next level. Sango, Miroku and Shippo watched as the two brothers took the final steps to destroy each other.

" Kagome," Sango called.

Kagome looked up and reached up for Sango to grab her hand. Sango came down and picked Kagome up.

" I have to hit Inuyasha's forehead, the shard remains there," Kagome said.

" He'll be killed," Sango said.

Kagome shook her head as tears fell from her face. " I have to do this, it's my job to complete the jewel," Kagome said

Sango nodded and patted Kirara, and Kirara took them down for a hit. Inuyasha looked up and saw Kagome steadying her arrow for a hit. He shook his head and pulled back Tetsusaiga.

" He's going to use wind scar," Sango warned

" He can't we're human the sword will turn against him," Kagome siad

" That's not what it looks like to me." Sango said, " Kirara!"

Kagome released the arrow and hit Tetsusaiga reversing the blade and then took the final shot.

" Forgive me!" Kagome cried out

Inuyasha watched as the arrow came at him, he closed his eyes and took his fate and Kikyo looked at Kagome as the arrow soared towards the jewel in bedded in Inuyasha's forehead. Kagome turned away to not see the out come, but she knew it, but to her surprise it wasn't the out come she expected. " What!" Sango said

Kagome turned to see where the arrow hit. To her surprise didn't not hit, but was caught by no one other then Sesshomaru.

" Sesshomaru," Kagome whispered

" Though I would love to see my brother's death, I don't think this is the way," Sesshomaru said

Kagome looked at Sesshomaru as Sango came for a landing. Kagome jumped off and looked at Sesshomaru.

" He's got a shard," Kagome said

" Is this the way you wish for someone you care about to die," Sesshomaru replied Inuyasha opened his eyes flaming red, like his demon transformation. Kagome looked at Sesshomaru and then pointed behind him. Sesshomaru turned around to just feel Inuyasha's claws cut his right shoulder. Sesshomaru growled and forced Inuyasha back once more.

" Your shoulder," Kagome said " It's a flesh wound," Sesshomaru said Sesshomaru threw a punch at Inuyasha's forehead with his poison claws. Blinding Inuyasha let Sesshomaru have the advantage as long as he didn't use the wind scar, which he did. Sesshomaru grabbed Tenseiga and placed it in front of him, which protected Sesshomaru a little, but it wasn't enough. He was thrown back and Kagome looked at Inuyasha. Inuyasha came at Kagome slowly as she backed off.

" Inuyasha, please stop," Kagome cried

" That is enough Inuyasha," Kikyo said

Kikyo walked down from the hill side and Inuyasha looked at her. Kagome looked at Kikyo as she held her bow.

" Give me the jewel," Kikyo said

Kagome shook her head and backed away from Kikyo.

" You took him away from me," Kagome whimpered

" You idiot, he was never yours to begin with, Inuyasha is no ones," Kikyo said, " Give me the jewel." Kagome looked at Sango and Miroku for their help and they nodded.

" Kikyo do you think it is wise for you to hold the jewel," Sango said, " Kagome has protected it this far why not let her have it." " The jewel must be destroyed," Kikyo said, " And I will destroy it."

Kagome held the jewel close to her and shook her head

" I will do that," Kagome said

Kikyo raised her bow and arrow at Kagome and Kagome glared at her.

" Kagome!" Sango and Miroku said

Inuyasha looked at Kikyo and Kagome and reached up, then pulled the shard out of his forehead. He dropped it and Kagome knelt down and picked it up, then placed it on the jewel completing it.

" It's complete," Kagome whispered as it glowed

The jewel became purified and Kagome looked at it. She held it close to her and then looked at Inuyasha. " This jewel, we collected together and grew closer together, but it belongs to Kikyo, but she will ask for her soul back killing me," Kagome whimpered

Kikyo placed her bow and arrow down and Inuyasha looked at Kagome. He walked towards her, then lifted her chin up and placed a kiss on her lips.

" I'm sorry Kagome," Inuyasha whispered

He grabbed her hand with the jewel in it and the jewel reacted, suddenly a blast of light covered the lands. They were all blinded by this light and no one could see them. What was this light? It died away and Inuyasha and Kagome fell to the ground unconscious. Sango and Miroku checked them, but they were out.

" Kagome, Inuyasha," Miroku and Sango yelled

" Hey look," Shippo said

Sango and Miroku saw someone walking towards them. Kirara's ears perked up and Sango looked at her.

" Kirara," Sango said

" Do not fear me," The gentle voice said

She walked towards them dress in garments of a priestess and armor of ancient times. Sango gasped, Miroku looked at Sango and placed her hand on her shoulder.

" It's Midoriko," Sango said

" It can't be she's dead," Miroku said

Kikyo looked at them and Sango bowed on one knee.

" I see the two that have searched for the jewel that has come from my body have seen what power in it. The once half demon that wished to become pure demon to protect this young maiden, has become only pure heart for that is the weapon of strength. The maiden has wished for love and yet she did not see the love before her, the one that called out to her," Midoriko said, " I shall take the jewel and they shall see what life offers them."

Midoriko called the jewel and looked at Kikyo.

" Do you wish for something young maiden?" She asked

" Only that I may be with Inuyasha," Kikyo said

" Inuyasha is Kagome's not yours," Sango said

Kikyo looked at Sango and laughed, " That mortal girl is no more fit for Inuyasha than that little demon fox is fit to be a man."

" Hey," Shippo said

Sango looked at Midoriko and she nodded. Sango growled at Kikyo and Kikyo smiled and walked off.

" He will have to kill himself if that is his wish to be with you," Midoriko said Kikyo nodded and said, " I understand."

Midoriko looked at them and then vanished. Suddenly everything repeated its self and Kagome and Inuyasha looked at each other.

" Let go of it Inuyasha!" Kagome cried

" It's not yours anymore Kagome," Inuyasha said pulling it

" Your going to break it," Kagome said pulling it

" Me your pulling it," Inuyasha said

Miroku and Sango looked at them and saw nothing was changing. Sesshomaru opened his eyes and saw the light coming from the jewel. He looked at Kagome and Inuyasha. Sesshomaru drew his sword and smirked.

" My chance to finish Inuyasha off," Sesshomaru said

He ran towards them and Sango picked up her boomerang then threw it at him. Sesshomaru turned around and blocked it. Sango came at Sesshomaru and Sesshomaru lifted her then threw at Miroku.

" Hold her," He said

" Pleasure," Miroku said

" Monk," Sango growled

Sesshomaru attacked Inuyasha, but was thrown back. Kagome turned and saw the light attack Sesshomaru cutting him across his chest.

" Sesshomaru!" Kagome cried

She released the jewel and ran to Sesshomaru. Inuyasha flew back and slid against the ground cutting his bare back on the rough ground. He held the jewel tight in his hand and looked up. He saw something he didn't want to see, something that caused him great pain. Kagome knelt down at Sesshomaru's side lifting him in her arms. Sesshomaru winced in pain and looked at her.

" K-K-Kagome," He whispered

" Shh, you don't need to speak," She whispered

Sango looked at them and became confused. Miroku as well looked at them with slight confusion.

" What's going on?" Miroku said, " Is Kagome in love with Sesshomaru?"

Sesshomaru looked at Kagome and reached out his hand and touched her face. He slightly smirked.

" Sesshomaru, I'm going to take you to my era, you can live, these burns and cuts will be healed," Kagome whispered

" Kagome you can't be serious," Inuyasha said

Kagome turned to Inuyasha and glared at him.

" Go with Kikyo, you have the jewel go," Kagome said

Inuyasha lowered his head and saw the end to everything he had tried. Sesshomaru once more had taken it from him. Did Kagome love him though?
