“Stupid Baka” kagome muttered as she ran through the forest tears running down her flushed cheeks. It was a year since Naraku had been defeated . they had decided to join forces Sesshoumaru , Kouga and the rest of the Inutachi. Kouga joined gladly promising to give kagome his jewel shards after Naraku was defeated. Sesshoumaru on the other hand had been quite a shock when he suddenly appeared. At first they were scared wondering if he was going to try to take tetsusaiga away from Inuyasha. They though he had finally given up for he hadn’t tried to attack them in about four months. He didn’t seem like he was looking for a fight though, so trying to find out what he wanted she had sit Inuyasha, who didn’t appreciate it very much. “I have decided to join you filthy humans in your attempt to destroy Naraku.”

They had all stood there looking at him with their tongues hanging out their mouths for a moment. “Yeah right!! We don’t want you with us you bastard who is to say you won’t kill us in our sleep?” Yelled Inuyasha after finally pulling his face from the dirt. “Trust me Inuyasha if I wanted to kill you , I would’ve done it all ready you stupid half breed”. She believed Sesshoumaru though she was still a bit wary of him. But as Miroku had pointed out having Sesshoumaru on our side could be a great asset. When asked why he would want to help them Sesshoumaru only replied “This Sesshoumaru does not need to explain anything to the likes of you” and with that he took of in the air on his cloud and headed towards the west.

The battle had been a great and tiring one but finally Naraku was defeated though his Minions Kagura and Kanna got away. But that was no matter for they never joined the battle to do naraku’s bidding. It seemed all they wanted was to be free of him and now they were even Kikyou had joined them at the last minute. But now the battle was over and the jewel shard was once again whole. She had decided to stay in Sengoku Jidai much to everyone’s happiness even inuyasha was glad though he didn’t really show it. She loved inuyasha and was still hoping that he would realize it and see her as more than a shard detector.

Inuyasha on the other hand loved Kagome but he also loved Kikyou. After all she was his first love kagome was his friend but he didn’t think he could be more than that to her not with kikyou around, but that didn’t mean he wanted her to go through the well and stay in her time. She was his, and his alone to protect. During the year that kagome had stayed there, they had helped Sango and Miroku build their new home. After the void in miroku’s hand had closed up he decided to express his feelings to Sango asking her to marry him, and happily she had accepted. They were now living in their new home and Sango was already expecting her first child, it seemed Miroku was wasting no time when it came to bearing children much to sango’s embarrassment.

She had finally decided to give Inuyasha the Shikon No Tama.She loved him so much she would’ve have even given her life. “Inuyasha I decided to give you the Shikon No Tama” she said smiling at him, she only hoped that whatever he wished for would make him happy. Inuyasha had looked at her in surprise “ Kagome are you sure? Is this what you really want to do?” she nodded and placed the Jewel in his palm closing his fingers about it “ yes Inuyasha I really would like you to have it and I hope the choice and wish you make will make you happy” Smiling Inuyasha closed his eyes and made his wish the jewel glowed brightly then faded in Inuyasha hand, his wish was made.

She watched as Inuyasha grasped her in a quick hug before running of saying he had to find Kikyou. Her face fell when she watched him disappear wondering what he had wished for. Sighing she made her way towards the others at the camp. Shippou was no longer with them , he had found his aunt and uncle on their way back from the battle and had left with them to learn the ways of a kitsune. Suddenly Inuyasha entered the camp kikyou trailing behind him. Her usual soul stealers were not with her. “ Where are your soul stealers of to find some unsuspecting souls for you?” sneered Sesshoumaru.(After the battle he still came around to grace everyone with his cold unemotional presence.)

“shut the hell up you bastard” Inuyasha yelled at Sesshoumaru already preparing to pull out Tetsusaiga to attack him. “ Inuyasha” kikyou said calmly resting a hand on his shoulder immediately calming the Hanyou. Sesshoumaru suddenly sniffed the air “ You’re alive aren’t you ?” said Sesshoumaru unemotionally causing kagome to gasp.. “ what did you wish for Inuyasha “ kagome asked quietly afraid of what she would hear. Smiling happily Inuyasha slipped his arm around kikyou waist announcing “ I wished for kikyou to be alive and to have a soul of her own.”

Another sob escaped kagome as she ran through the bushes ignoring the scrapes and bruises she accumulated she had to get to the bone eaters well . there was nothing here for her anymore, any hope of Inuyasha ever falling for her were now dashed away the pain in her chest forever reminding her of her heartbreak. She was so intent on her sorrows she didn’t realize that someone was following her or that the forest was suddenly eerily quiet. A sharp cry flew from her lips when her ankle suddenly twisted on a root causing her to fall to the cold forest floor. Wiping the tears away from her eyes she sat up and pressed her fingers to her ankle and bit her lip to keep herself from crying out. She didn’t mean to intrude on them but what Inuyasha had said had hurt her terribly, it seemed she would always be nothing more than a shard detector and since there were no more shards to collect then it seemed her usefulness was used up. Looking up and around her she finally realized how quiet the forest was , suddenly she heard the snapping of a twig. Gasping she looked in the direction of the sound to see black boot clad feet walking towards her eyes moved up from the feet and noticed white silk encased legs. Moving further up she gasped and scrambled back wincing at the pain in her ankle “ Sesshoumaru” she whispered in fright even though he had helped them defeat Naraku he was still the same cold blooded killer and whose to say he didn’t change his mind about not killing them.

“Well.. Well look what we have here.. Trying to run away from your sorrows miko?” he said as he took another menacing step towards her , the look in his eyes was one she had never seen before. Ah….so she was in heat smirked Sesshoumaru as he watched her scrambling away from him in fright. The scent of her tears , blood and heat were calling to his demon. He only intended to find her and …. Find her and what? his inner voice asked him. This Sesshoumaru doesn’t need a reason to do anything.’ He sneered. Seeing a flash of white he smirked when he saw her try to dash away from him despite her swollen ankle. “ Foolish Human” he growled enjoying the chase she was now giving though it would be very easy for him to catch her.. but he was in the mood for some games.

Kagome was running for her life the pain in her ankle was unbearable but she was not just going to sit there and allow that Taiyoukai to rip her apart. “ouch” she moaned as she tripped over an overgrown root. Scrambling she got up and was about to move ahead again when she suddenly heard a feral growl. Scared she started to back up only to bump into something solid.. before she could spin around to see who had grabbed her , strong arms appeared like vice grips around her arms, forcing them to remain at her sides. The dark seductive chuckle sent tremors down her spine. “ Running and fighting will get you nowhere miko” stated Sesshoumaru as he inhaled her intoxicating scent. He had always been intrigued by her scent and the fact that she was in heat did nothing to staunch the sweetness of her scent.

“please .. let me go” kagome whimpered as Sesshoumaru whispered in her ear, eyes widening she realized he was now sniffing her. She always thought Sesshoumaru hated humans but now she wasn’t so sure if the bulge she was feeling was anything to go by.

“Inuyasha is not here anymore wench after all he did make his choice. To bad he didn’t see the good thing he had. Poor miko now a little castaway his uses for you are no more” mocked Sesshoumaru as he ran his tongue along the ridges of her ear. Her fright was now turning into anger “how dare you?” she hissed as she struggled in his arms “you know nothing let me go you bastard” she growled the rage burning in her .

Chuckling Sesshoumaru moved one of his hands to brush against her nipples lightly enjoying the startled gasp escaping her lips. “ So feisty.. I wonder if you’re as feisty when your doing other things”. Kagome felt her cheeks heat up at his innuendo. What was going on why was Sesshoumaru acting this way she thought frantically, she had always been attracted to his grace and unworldly beauty but she always loved Inuyasha.. Inuyasha.. she felt her heart break at just uttering his name. No she had loved Inuyasha but she couldn’t go on with her childish notions and dreams, he had chosen kikyou. Suddenly she felt all the fight drain out of her her body going limp against Sesshoumaru.

He snarled and flung her away as he felt her body go limp the scent of defeat emanating from her. “Don’t tell me your one of the weak pathetic humans.. and to think I thought you Miko.. were made of stronger stuff”.

She landed on the forest floor with a loud thud. Her already swollen ankle getting twisted in the process making her cry out in pain. He inwardly winced at her cry of pain having forgotten about her twisted ankle when he threw her to the ground.

An evil grin came across his face as he approached her “ So little Miko have you ever been feasted upon?” Kagome’s eyes widened a scream ready on her lips as he suddenly pounced on her “INUYASHA!!!!” The scream came out suddenly as she felt long claws sink into her hips.
