**Edit**  I don't know if I would necessarily call this a rant, just a point of view and a preference.  I really hate it when people compare my story to another story, asking if I took inspiration from other author's, and pointing out similarities.  If I take inspiration from something or someone, I WILL state it in the fanfiction.  When somebody says, "oh, hey, your story was so much like so and so's, just thought I would point it out," I get the feeling that that person thought I stole something from someone.  Plagiarism is a big deal with me.  I don't do it, period.  I can't help it if coincidences happen, but please don't point them out as if I were in the wrong.  Maybe two people just had the same great idea.  I've never even heard of some of these fics that people compare mine too.  Granted, I've only gotten a few of these comments, but they bug me immensely because I don't want people to think I'm that kind of person.  I can have people vouch for me, but what would be the point?  Like I said, if I take inspiration from anything, I state it in the fic.  Or if you have a question, PM me; don't post it for the whole world to see.  I think it's disrespectful. Or if you do post publicly, don't post anonymously.  I like to be able to defend myself if need be.  I'm not mad or anything, just slightly annoyed.  I hope no one takes offense to this, it's just the way I feel.
