Chapter 2: Dearest Father

Previously:

Kagome stood and turned to the side, holding Shippou to her and she smiled slightly. "He got be pregnant as you can plainly see. I just want my baby to know his father." Kagome didn't want to tell Sesshoumaru the truth. She loved InuYasha.

Sesshoumaru nodded. "When you have the child, bring him to me. Until I have my own pups, he will be my heir, as is the law of the West." Rin shot out past his feet and ran around Kagome's legs.

"Rin stop." Sesshoumaru said and Rin froze in place. "Do not run around these women, they are both with child." Rin looked at the taijia and the miko. "But, only this one looks pregnant, mi'lord!" She said, pointing to Kagome.

"The other has just begun her pregnancy now come here." Sesshoumaru said and Sango looked like she was going to faint. "B-but me and Miroku only once....no! Can't be!"

"Sango, it only takes once. Remember me and InuYasha? Not like I'll make that mistake again though. Wait! I can't bring my baby to see YOU!! You want to kill his daddy!"

Sesshoumaru scowled. "I want his 'daddy's' sword and I will kill him to have it, yes."

"MY child is NOT going ANYWHERE near YOU!!! You are a danger to his health. Come on Sango....Sango?" Sango was on the ground in shock. "Oh no..."

Chapter 2: Dearest Father

"Sango! It's ok! We can get through this together, remember? Thats what you told me! Its not so bad...we can make our mistakes! And look what we're getting out of it, babies! We always wanted babies, right? Come on, Sango..." Kagome said, desperatly trying to snap Sango back into reality. "How 'bout we both go to my time? We can take you to a doctor and we can see how healthy you are and how healthy the baby will be! Shoot, we can make it a boy or a girl if you want! Would you like that?"

Sango bit her lip and sniffled. "What about Kohaku, someone has to watch him whi-"

"Keade can do that!"

"O-ok..." Sango said and Shippou jumped up and down.

"I'm coming with you too, right Kagome? You said there I could be legally bound to you! And I could play with your brother and Kohaku could too! YEAH! Let's bring Kohaku and EVERYONE!"

By this time Sesshoumaru was utterly and completely lost. "Your...time?" He quiried and Kagome's hands flew to her mouth and her head snapped towards Sesshoumaru, causing the muscles to cramp and she yelped in pain. Sesshoumaru raised an eyebrow at her and Shippou let out a growl at the older demon.

"Leave mama alone!" He screeched at him, puffing out his chest and standing between him and Kagome.

Sesshoumaru raised a hand to strike the child only to realize something. "You adopted a demon child?"

Kagome nodded and pulled Shippou into her arms. "Of course I did! What did you expect me to do, keep him as a pet?"

Sesshoumaru's hand lowerd and he scowled down at her. "Had you done such to a purebred such as himself I would have killed you."

Rin eeped and looked up at her adoptive father in fear. "Sesshoumaru-sama would do that?!"

Kagome immediatly smiled and patted the girl's head. "Of course not, me and Sesshoumaru-sama are just playing a game. He's trying to scare me enough to make me cry."

"Oooooh!" Rin said and smiled. Shippou sniffed at her and held his nose.

"Kagome she doesn't bathe!"

Sesshoumaru immediatly scooped her up and sniffed her. He growled. "What did I tell you about bathing, Rin?"

"If I don't bathe I can't eat dinner or play with Jaken-sama." RIn said sadly.

"What are you going to do now?"

"Rin is going to bathe!" She exclaimed and was dropped on her rear before she shot off towards the nearest hot spring.

Kagome smiled. "I see. You're nothing but a big ol' softy with kids." She chuckled, Sango immediatly joined in the laughter. Shippou was too busy trying to catch a grasshopper at the time.

Sesshoumaru growled. "This Sesshoumaru is not a 'softy', as you so bluntly put it. Rin's uncleanliness in untolerable, as is InuYasha's."

"InuYasha bathes once a week now days, I wont go near him if he bathes any less." Kagome said and chuckled. "Sango and I bathe everyday with Shippou! Don't we sweetheart?"

Shippou nodded and pounced on Kirara, who let out a hiss and ran to Sango.

Miroku chose that moment to come running into the clearing. "Kagome, InuYasha is with Kikyo-AGAIN."

Kagome whirled about and snarled fiercely. "Let him have his clay pot then! Sango, may I borrow Kirara?"

"What're you going to do Kagome?"

"I'm going to Kouga! See how much InuYasha will like that!" Kagome said and Shippou latched onto her shoulder.

"Kagome, he's just talking to her, shouldn't you let him at least talk to her?" Shippou asked and Kagome sighed.

"Shippou, go spy on InuYasha, tell me what happens ok?"

"Ok!" With that Shippou was off. Sango handed Kirara to Kagome and motioned for Miroku to follow her.

Kirara snarled at Sesshoumaru but didn't change form as Miroku and Sango left.

Kagome chuckled. "You would have liked the way I told your brother about the child, Sesshoumaru. He couldn't walk for a week."

"You do not seem afraid of me-why?" Sesshoumaru asked, ignoring her statement.

"You don't seem like a guy who would hurt a pregnant woman, or a mother. And I am both now."

"Ah, I see." He said, nodding to her slightly. "What of this 'time' where you come from."

"Ah...well you see....um...how can I say this....you know that well, the bone eater's well?" Kagome asked, ringing her hands and suddenly finding her feet interesting.

"Hn."

"Well...its like this...I jump in the well and I end up back at my home, a shrine in a large village we call a city. And...well...its 500 years in the future..."

"Enough lies. That is not possible."

"Not in your mind, hell, not in my mind either! I didn't even know demons existed, because in my time there are none, that I know of at least. Maybe they're hiding or something, but anyway, I fell down the well from my time, ended up here, found out I'm a reincartnation of a powerful miko, there's a jewel in my body that has so much power that demons are always trying to kill me, and fell in love with a hanyou who's heart is taken by a dead woman. Maybe to YOU that isn't much but it sure is a hell of alot to me!" Kagome snapped and placed her hands on her hips. "I'm barely turning 18, I've been a mother for two years to a kitsune, and I'm pregnant! In MY time girls don't usually get pregnant until they finished college! That could be around 22 to 25 years old you know!"

Sesshoumaru blinked. "College?"

"Higher level of schooling. In my time girls and boys have equal rights and such. We go to preschool as toddlers, then kindergarden, then throughout our younger childhood is elementry school, then in our younger teen years is junior high school, then highschool until we're 18 years old. I've got to repeat a year of highschool because I'm always too busy for school, coming here to the feudal era has taken alot from my life you know. And thanks to Dog-boy I can't find a good hubby because I'm going to have a kid."

Sesshoumaru couldn't help it. He brung his hand to his lips and silently chuckled at her fury towards his younger brother.

Kagome sighed and brung her hand to her stomache, rubbing it softly. "I'm having a son, you know, and since it'll be your heir I expect you to treat him better than you treat InuYasha. InuYasha was hurt by the careless words of you and everyone else in the past, I'll not have my son raised in such a way." Her eyes were tearing up, he could smell the salt from her tears.

He put his hand on her head making her jump. "This child will be treated better than InuYasha, I assure you. This Sesshoumaru, however, does not promise kindness to the child. If he is to be-"

"YOU'RE WHAT?!?!" Miroku's voice was heard then Sango's form came to Kagome from the woods, throwing herself at her friend.

Sango and Kagome sank to their knees on the ground and Sango cried on Kagome's lap as Kagome coddled and pet her.

"Shhh...I'm sure he didn't mean it in such a way, Sango, it's alright. Remember when InuYasha found out about me? He wouldn't stop yelling until I threw out his back with so many 'sits', men are just like that." Kagome said soothingly and rubbed her friends back.

Miroku ran out of the wall of trees and straight to Sango declaring how wonderful it was that she was pregnant with his child. Sango stayed in Kagome's arms and smiled for only Kagome to see.

"What do you mean?! You hate the fact I'm pregnant!" Sango roared at him, causing Kirara to change shape and growl at him.

Miroku smiled softly and Sesshoumaru watched as the man walked right past the growling beast and wrapped his arms around Sango. Kagome stood and backed away from them, grabbing Sesshoumaru's empty sleeve and dragging him with her.

"They need time alone and your presence is just making Sango nervous as hell, ya know." Kagome snapped at him and dug her nails into the bark of a tree, her nails growing trying to make her demon because of her baby. Her eyes flashed red then back to normal as she regained control.

"Bad day." She said, quoting Jackie Chan. She sat at the base of a tree and rested her hands on her stomache. "So, how'd you come across the new follower?"

"Rin?"

"Of course Rin."

"That is none of your concern." Sesshoumaru stated and scowled down at her. He wanted to see what was going on with the Monk and the Taijia but what was happening with the Miko was much mor interesting now.

"I see." Kagome said and chuckled. "Ever the mysterious Sesshoumaru."

With that she stood and walked back towards the clearing. She stopped after a few steps and turned. "Oh and Sesshoumaru?"

"Hn?"

"I'll be giving birth anytime from now til next month, be there because I'm afraid InuYasha will probebly not be allowed near this child." Kagome said and started off again.

"Why is that, human?"

"Because, oh Lord of the Western Lands, your brother is in love with that walking corpse." She simply stated and flexed her fingers, which now sported claws and jagged blue stripes at the wrists. "If he doesn't stay faithful to me then I will go to Kouga."
