It had been three long years since the defeat of Naraku and the selfless wish that caused the Shikon no Tama to dissappear. With that very wish, the girl known as Kagome was sent back to her time and those from the Feudal Era who fought bravely by her side to go on with their lives without the knowledge of how their ally was doing.
When Kagome was sent back to her home, she tried desparately to return through the well. The first year saw the girl heartbroken to be away from her friends and first love. The second year proved that the raven-haired girl was strong enough to accept what fate had in store for her and the third year was when the girl became a woman who took her experiences from the Fuedal Era to apply herself to the modern world. She made her grandfather proud before his death by focusing on the upkeep of the shrine while her younger brother traveled abroad to further his education. Misaki looked at her strong-willed daughter knowing that if the well was to magically allow transport back to the Fuedal Era, Kagome would go without any hesititation.
It was during the summer of the fourth year that Misaki noticed that the shrine was receiving a regular visitor unlike the elderly citizens who would pay their respects. Each visit would coincide with Kagome's outings and Misaki had to wonder if it was possible that this person was one of her daughter's friends from the past. However, the visitor would disappear before they could be approached.
When questioned about the visitor's appearance, Kagome could note of only one person who slightly resembled the strange guest. But in the young woman's mind, she knew that this couldn't be the same person. For one, the gender wasn't right and the second reason was that there was no reason for the only one Kagome could think to be visiting her.
