This story contains some really detailed changing (not sure if that would make people cringe) and nudity. This is written for r0o's GM challege 2011. Implication on the naughties.
...
Man looks up towards the full flourecent moon. A soft wind blows, moving his bangs. The band in his hair slids slowly out. With the young child he took care of in the hands of another, he could finally travel. (A friend of his had passed on and had left the daughter in the man's care.) Merely 26, his hair already flowed a silvery shade. It was a family trait. In his hands he held his fadora, admiring the lovely night. Traveled far he had from his home in Japan. His car had broken down on the road not far. Now, he traveled farther down the streets, hoping to find someone who may be able to help him. While he should be troubled by the lack of a vehicle, he found the night just too calming.
He had been on his way to a new private accounting job. The man would live in Japan, but he currently was overseaing business in Greece. He was currently in the valley he was to take to the man's hotel into a smaller town, one not so bustling with tourists. There were lovely trees along this path. Hopefully, he would reach his destination soon. He knew not how patient the man was. He still wasn't sure all he did just yet either. All he knew that the job would be well paid.
The wind continued to blow, allowing the hair covering his ears to show through. On the tops of his ears were small points; another inheritance of family lineage. He quickly found himself remembering such and quickly stuck on his hat. It was large enough to fit just over the top of his ears. He tried so hard to hide them, like the rest of his family did. Time and time again he had asked why his family had such ears, that and why their hair turned. He was merely told time and time something about falling in love can leads to silly things. He still never truly understood.
"Don't let yourself melt into the light of the moon, Sesshomaru. One slip up with someone seeing you is enough. Your father made sure to tell you never to show them, and so far it seems to be the best," he spoke to himself. Faving forwards, he decided to try and ingore the moon that always called to him and instead look upn the trees and road before him. His pace quickened, as to try and keep him from his already once distraction. As he strode, a strange movement caught his eye. He paused a moment, trying to shake the thought. A tree trunk moving, with a tree that thick? That would have been perposterous.
On a second glance of the tree, his orbs widened with shock. It was moving in strange ways. It wasn't like the whole trunk was moving. It was only a side twisting and morphing itself. He could only stare in amazement, wondering what he might do. What on earth would make it do that.
The morphing and shaping of the tree started to take form. Long wooden spikes appeared on a ovalish shape. Below that looked to be the formation of a neck and back, as arms soon appeared. The sounds of creaks and cracks grew louder as more of the tree looked to be ripping and pulling itself from it. Suddenly, the hands were formed and released from the tree. The being bent backwards, revealing the shape of breasts. As the moonlight hit this female creature, the wooden skin started to smooth out. The spikey look on the head started to look more like black hair handing down. The eyes were shut as the skin looked more human-like, but with a glow on it as the glow surrounded to whole creature soon after. After that, the bottom hald of her torso formed, followed by her legs and feet. She finished pulling herself from the tree, standing full before Sesshomaru in the moonlight. While she looked human mostly now, there were still portions of her skin that showed the ridges and coloring of the tree she just came from.
She just stood there; back towards Sesshomaru. Her head was titled up towards the very moon he had been looking at. He stood there, trying to prepare for anything. Would she attack or not notice him at all? She he ignore her? He did have pressing matters. Though, there was ne feature on her that caught his eyes. She had pointed ears as well?
"Do not be frightened. I know your language, if only from the passing tongues of travelers. I could see from your features you are from the Orient. We learn from others of our kind, who still find ways to hide from view. I would have to, but..."
The woman turned slowly, her bright blue eyes glowing as the rest of her was. Her form was beautiful to his eyes. Her breasts were perky; he quickly took his gaze from them.
"Your family had been fae touched. This facinates me, as it is not like your kind to run into a fae too often."
She started to walk forward, her movement still quite slow.
Sesshomaru's brow furrowed. "Fae? As in faeries and things from European myths and legends?"
"Yes," she replied. "Our kind always keep in touch with their kind."
Standing straight, trying hard not to show any signs of emotions now to this... whatever it was, he continued to ask questions.
"And what exactly IS your kind?"
She smiled. "It's not surprising. Many are not well known with dryads. We are nymphs tied down to a tree. There are many different kinds of us. That is... there use to be." Her smile faded. "When our tree dies, so do we."
Sesshomaru wasn't sure what to take of that just yet. He noticed she was starting to get rather close.
"You mentioned before you don't usually show yourself. Why to me? Is it this 'faerie' origin that you sense."
"Yes, that." She stopped a moment. She smiled once again. "That and you appear so lovely with your features. There have been others with the touch who have been down this man made road. They were of other lands usually. None of them gave the attraction you do. I thought that you may be the one."
Sesshomaru cocked a brow. "The one what?"
"The one to take care a a child. You do not have much fae in you, as I can sense, but it may help her as she goes. What I see more of is what is in your eyes. You have a sense of pride. I can sense it. It is not overpowering though. I do not sense anything dark from you. The other reason is fear I have. There has been rumor of taking us all down. I won't be able to stop it, and so I shall die. I want to at least bring a child into this world that may carry on the spirit of our kind. The child would most likely be female, as males tend to be a rare occasion for spring children."
Sesshomaru stiffened. "You want me to mate with you? I know nothing about you! How do I know this isn't some trick? You haven't even said your name yet!"
"Other dryads call me "Kagome". Most just call me dryad. We don't always give out our name as tradition. I do apologize. I truly mean what I say. They plan to start soon. She will not be born as slow as human children do. I know one mortal who can bring her to you once she's born, if you cannot stay for long. Please...I don't want to die at least not knowing this joy.."
Sesshomaru could not dispute it. The look of desperation on her face was enough. She showed no other signs of lyng. If this were a trick, she did well to hide it. This was something one woudl not run into everyday. Perhaps, if he did this, she may be willing to tel lhim more about this 'fae' in him. If he knows more about the faeries, maybe he can confront his family more about it and learn the truth. 'There is still a chance there won't be a child born from one night. Right?"
Stepping forward to place his hands on her shoulders. She felt softer than she looked. He would have to ask a few more questions.
"Very well. I, Sesshomaru, shall-"
Before he could finish, her lips were upon his. A rush of heat went through him, feeling her body press against his. He kiss was-He had to return it. Her kiss was wondering. She looked wonderful. Perhaps, this wouldn't be so bad. He ran his hands through her hair, feeling her fingers creak as she worked his buttons. Was her appearance an illusion? What did it matter then? Once he decided on something, he didn't go back on it. It wasn't long before they were both basking in the moonlight on the side of the rode. As he entered inside her, the passion they had brought the glow around her to form around both of them. Luckily, no one passed by during this moment.
They continued on, the feeling enrapturing them. It felt like the night could go on.
...
Months passed. Sesshomaru had returned to Japan. He had learned what he needed and found out his Mother's father was to blame. He use to travel all over the world, for his military career. One night, he ran into his grandmother. She had said something about choosing to live with him in the human world instead of the fae, after a time of talking and learning about each other. He brought her back from Japan and married her. She could hide her form, but she could never teach her daughter how to. In fact, his grandmother still lived, which he had been told she had died before his grandfather. In truth, she returned to the faerie realm, unable to keep up the illusion of appearing older, like a human would. She still loved his grandfather, and would visit him from time to time. She stpped after his death, finding her daughter wanting nothing to do with her.
Sesshomaru had almost forgotten about the interlude with the dryad, being so packed with work. That was until his adopted daughter came rushing in.
"Mr. Sesshomaru, there's someone at the door! They have someone with them too! Can she play house with me?"
The surprised Sesshomaru. He hadn't expected anyone to visit today. "Hold on, Rin."
Getting up from his chair, Sesshomaru made way towards the door. Ponytail back, he looked once in a mirror passing, to make sure his ears were hidden from view. Opening the door slowly, she looked upon an older man. There was a young girl with a crochet hat on her hair. From that hat poured lovely light green. Her eyes were sky blue, as bright as someone he hadn't thought of in a while. She looked to be a little younger than Rin. She looked as sad as Rin did, when her father passed away.
"Mr. Sesshomaru. I come to tell you Kagome is no longer with us. She cared for her as long as she could....We delayed them for as long as we could. We even tried to move her, but her roots ran too deep... I'm..I'm terribly sorry."
The man pulled a letter out of his vest, handing it to Sesshomaru.
"My number is on there. She wrote everything you needed to know, before the end came."
Sesshomaru stood for a moment, before taking the letter. They had indeed produced a child. Had she known before he left those many days ago? Looking down at his daughter, he knew he couldn't just hide from her.
"What is your name," he asked.
"Aloira," she spoke in almost a hushed toned.
"Aloira." He held at his hand to her. "Would you like to come in? There's another little girl in here. Her name is Rin. She lost her parents a few years ago."
Instead of nodding or anything he really expected, she just looked up and cocked her head.
"Are you really Daddy? Mommy said you had silver hair and pointy ears."
He knew she could see his hair. So, lifting his hair on the side of his head, he showed his ears. Aloira then flung herself to him, holding him close.
"Why did they do it, Daddy? Why did they do that to Mommy?"
He didn't have an answer. He wasn't sure how to answer. He looked up at the man, who brought her.
"You have a lot of learning together. I hope all will be well. When you call, ask for Mr. Mushin. I'll pick up right away for you."
The older man turned away and walked to his taxi. Sesshomaru picked up Aloira and bought her inside, shutting the door. There would be a lot of changes to come. He hoped the letter in hand would help him along the way.
