FOOL FOR YOU
Kagome and Inuyasha sat together in a small coffee shop enjoying a little quiet time together before they had to return back to the office from their lunch break.
“Excuse me, Inu, I have to go to the lady's room,” Kagome said standing and walking towards the back of the coffee shop towards the restrooms.
“Yeah, okay,” Inuyasha answered taking a very ungraceful bit out of his sandwich. As Inuyasha sat quietly at the small table waiting for Kagome to return from the bathroom, he noticed outside the shop Kikyo walking by. Rudely he knocked on the glass next to his table to get her attention.
“Hey, Kikyo, check it out it's your puppy dog,” a girl with black hair and red eyes said pointing into the shop where the knock came from.
“Indeed it is,” she answered without so much as a wave towards him.
“Maybe you should go give him a treat,” her other friend with silver hair said causing the other girl to giggle.
“I guess I will,” Kikyo said leaving the two outside the shop as she went in and sat at the table with him. As they sat there talking neither them nor Kikyo's friends outside notice the brown-haired that got up from her seat next to a black-haired violet eyed man and go towards the bathroom.
~In the Bathroom~
“I've got to tell Kagome,” the brown-haired girl said walking into the bathroom and pulling out her cell phone.
“Got to tell Kagome what?” a voice said from inside one of the stalls.
“Oh my Kami! Kagome, you scared the living daylights out of me! What are you doing here?f” the girl said/asked placing her hand on her chest to calm her rapidly beating heart.
“Hi to you too, Sango,” Kagome said giggling, “Now what is it that you need to tell?”
“I was going to tell you but since you're here I think I'll just show you,” Sango said taking her by her hand and dragging her out of the bathroom. From the entrance of the bathrooms you could out into the coffee shop, and from where they were standing directly at the table that Inuyasha and Kikyo were sitting at. Kagome stopped and just watched the scene before her. Obviously Inuyasha couldn't tell that she was out of the restroom he was so deeply into whatever he and Kikyo were talking about to notice her scent.
~At the Table~
“I'll see you later, Inu-kun,” Kikyo said as she got up to leave the shop. Even though Inuyasha didn't notice her scent doesn't mean the Kikyo didn't notice Kagome's spiritual prescience.
“Okay,” he said sadly while standing up to walk her back to the entrance of the coffee shop. Before she walked out of the small building she saw Kagome from the corner of her eye glaring at her from the restroom doors. A devilish glim shone in her eye as she reached up and kissed Inuyasha passionately on the lips before leaving out the door with a smirk on her face. Kagome's face became red with anger as she walked back over to the table.
“Kagome?” Inuyasha said as he walked back over to the table to see her gathering up her purse to leave the shop.
“Wait, where are you going?” he called after her as he followed her out of the shop.
“Shut up, Inuyasha,” she said angrily causing his ears to flatten towards his head.
“What's up?” he asked placing his hand on her shoulder.
“I guess Kikyo's skirt, seeing as how your tongue was down her throat,” she turned and hissed out at him. His ears flattened again, crap she saw.
“I'm sorry, It's not like I cheated she just came out of nowhere and kissed me,” he said putting up his hands in a defensive manner. True, she did just kiss him, but she didn't see him pushing her away either, so in her book that counted as cheating.
“No, Inuyasha. You know why because I'm done with it, Give me back my key,” she said holding out her hand to get the key from him.
“Come on, you're overreacting about this,” he said putting his hands in his pocket and gripping on the keys.
“Fine. Just know that your keys won't work anymore,” she said angrily as she walked away.
~Three Weeks Later~
She and Inuyasha had been over for almost a month now and she had already gotten into another relationship with a nice wolf demon named Koga. He was so much sweeter than Inuyasha, he treated her like a queen. Two months into their relationship and he had moved in with Kagome. Two weeks after that he had started acting funny. Normally he'd just walk into the apartment and empty his pockets on the front table, but now he'd started taking his receipts into the bedroom and hiding them under the bed. Kagome started to wonder what he was hiding. So one day while he was at work and she had the day off she check everywhere in the apartment until she came across a shoebox hidden under their bed. Looking through she found all the signs that meant that he was cheating on her. Now she knew why he stopped putting everything on the front table. The box was filled with receipts of countless jewelry that she had never laid eyes on, letters of love written to him that was in no way, shape, or form her handwriting, and the final thing, a smaller box of pictures of him with some red-headed girl with a flower in her hair.
“Son of bi...”before she even finished what she was saying the front door to the apartment opened and Koga walked in with a wolfish grin on his face. She hurriedly put everything back in the box and quietly slid it back under the bed.
“Welcome back, Koga,” she said as sweetly as possible trying to hide the malice in her voice. He took a whiff of the air when she walked out of the bedroom. Damn it, she smelt angry.
“Hey. How was day off?” he asked nervously, hoping that she was angry about something else, anything else than what he thought it was.
“Very productive,” she said pulling her hand from behind her back showing him one of the pictures in her hand. He gulped. Damn he was caught. When he didn't say anything she started to walk towards the door with her coat in her hand. Sure she'd have to come back because it was her apartment she just didn't want to have to look at his face right now.
“Wait, Kagome, I can explain,” he said grabbing her hand and pulling her back before she could make it to the door.
“Yes, Koga, please do explain,” she snapped angrily at him. He stayed silent.
“Is she the reason that you didn't come home so many nights?” she yelled at him.
“I'm sorry,” he said looking down. He could smell the hurt coming from her in waves, he couldn't bare to see it in her eyes. She laughed sadly.
“Yeah, me too.”
~Three Months Later~
Kagome sat alone in the small coffee shop reading a book and sipping her coffee when she checked her watch and noticed that if she didn't leave soon she'd be late for work. Quickly she stood up and made her way to the shop door only to be stopped a broad chest. The impact caused her coffee to spill from the cup and land all over the stranger's chest.
“Oh my Kami! I am so sorry!” she fussed at herself dragging the stranger into the shop counter to get napkins to wipe at his now ruined blue silk shirt. The stranger smirked down at her.
“It is okay,” his deep baritone voice said as he leaned down to take the napkin from her hand that she was currently using to attempt to clean up his person. That's when she noticed the long strand of silver silk that fell from behind his ear. Her first thought was that she had run into Inuyasha again until she looked up and noticed the maroon stripes on his cheeks and the blue crescent moon in the center of his forehead. She was shocked silent at his beauty.
“Again, I am so sorry. Please let me pay you back for the shirt, Please” she pleaded looking away from his eyes and back to the now brown and blue shirt. He just shook his head no at her offer.
“But please, It's ruined. Let me pay you back,” she begged again.
“No, I think it should pay me back by a date,” he said smirking at the small blush that rose to her cheeks.
“A date?” She questioned her blush slowly getting darker. He nodded as he got a business card out of his pocket and handed it to her still smirking.
“Sesshomaru,” she whispered as he turned to walk out of the coffee shop. He stopped and turned at the mention of his name from her lips and turned to look at her.
“Kagome,” She said as she walked in the other direction towards work. So she would get scolded for being late. She was going to go on a date with the hottest guy she had ever seen. Maybe her luck was changing and he would be different from Inuyasha and Koga. He didn't look like the type to cheat.
