~Chapter 1~ "Please, mi'lord, spare me. I know no more than what I have spoken." Staring down the length of his nose at the small and quivering youkai, his eyes hardened. "Where may this Sesshoumaru find one who knows of the Seer?" Lifting his head, Jaken gave a sigh of relief. "There was said to have been a woman deep in the west mountains, that know when each Seer is called forth and comes into their power. She'll know where to find the new Seer." Without any further words, the western lord drifted off the ground in his golden orb and vanished. Cursing and gathering Ah-Un as well as the small child, he made his way back towards the western palace. ********************************************** "Wind Scar!!!" Watching as the dragon like youkai fell to the ground, Kagome leapt off of the neko and made her way over for the dead corpse. Tensing up and retreiving the shard that was covered in blood and tuucked under a broken rib and scales, she swallowed the bile in her throat. Cleaning her findings off on the cloth she carried for such occassions, she sighed. "What's wrong, Kagome?" Turning and eyeing the taiji, she slipped the shard in the bottle around her neck. "Nothing. I'm just worring about the final battle thats nearing, I guess." "What's to worry about?" The hanyou cleaning his sword stated. "We find that bastard Naraku, kill him, and take the shards. Nothing to it." Rolling his eyes, Miroku gave his staff as twirl. THUMP!!! Eyeing the now red spot on his companions head, he smiled. "Inuyasha is right. Don't worry about the final battle. We will come out of it victorious and..." AHHH!!!! Hands instantly going to her head, Kagome's legs gave out on her. Quickly appearing beside her in a flash and catching her, Inuyasha cringled his nose. "What is it?" The monk questioned, as he watched his friend lose the battle with pain and fell unconcious. Pulling her smaller body into that of his, he brushed back her hair from her right shoulder. "Blood. She's bleeding blood out of her skin." And sure enough, her life's essence was falling freely from her slender and flawless skin. *********************************************** Stepping out of his youkai orb and onto snow, Sesshoumaru flared his aura. Instantly sensing an old magic nearing, he stilled himself and waited. And just as he predicted, the snow several feet before him lifted off the ground and a figure was formed. Throwing her head back to reveal prestine white shoulder length hair and flawless skin, an old smile greeted him. "Young western lord, I am honored to have you in my pressence, Inutashio." Raising an eyebrow, he folded his only arm. "This Sesshoumaru is not who you speak of. He is this Sesshoumaru's sire and he is dead." Frowning, her deep blue eyes saddened. "I must've lost count of the years and I mourn for the loss of he. He was a great friend who gave me life and life again." Eyes hardening, her voice lost it's fondness and turned cold. "Speak why you have sought me out." "This Sesshoumaru wishes to find the new Seer." "Awe, this I know and am quite aware of. My question is why?" "This Sesshoumaru's agenda is that of his own." He growled, hand instatly going for Tokijin. Narrowing her eyes, she raised her hand and before his very eyes, both his swords were clasped within her clamy hold. "Do not think that you may come here and ask that in which many others have and receive an answer. I am Soki, the Guardian of all Seers. And if you dare to wish the where abouts of me children, then ye' shall give great reason. If not, then no help in searching me child out and death shall come swiftly to you." Smiling and allowing the swords to fall to the snow covered ground, her eyes returned to a cool and soft deep blue. "So, I shall ask you again, young lord. Why do you wish to find the new Seer?" Growling, but giving a tentative nod, Sesshoumaru's voice was pure loathing. "The hanyou Naraku has heard the tell of what a Seer is able to do and capable of. This Sesshoumaru wishes to know said human and prevent him from..." "Do you know what a Seer is?" She voiced, cutting him off. "One who sees the future." Laughing, Soki shook her head. "That is true young lord, but there is more to a Seer than just the ability to see the future. A Seer is a person endowed with profound moral and spiritual insight and knowledge. Seers also possess intuitive powers, that able them to see a way through any obsticle and it will never lead them wrong. Along with such gifts, they are known for being strong illusionists, they can call to the dead and bring a spririt to our world, and even return life to a being if they are trained and intuned with their powers. So you see, Seers are not something to be taken lightly. They are one of the most strongest youkai around." He raised a silver eyebrow in disbelief. "Youkai? If this Sesshoumaru is not incorrect, which he knows that he is not, all the Seers that have been called forth and summoned were human." "You are correct young lord, but in order for a Seer to be summoned or called upon by the powers that be, there must be a small trace of youkai blood in their family line." He nodded. "The day grows old. Where may this Sesshoumaru find the new Seer?" Sighing, she snapped her fingers and his swords returned to his hip. "Impatient as your sire, I see." Closing her eyes and allowing her aura to flow around her, she smiled. Calling her youkai back and eyeing him, she started to turn into snow. "Go and seek out the young prince under him. Within his group, the new Seer is coming into her powers. I leave her safety to you, young lord. Now be on your way." And with that, he was once more standing alone on the snow covered mountain. ******************************************* Ringing the towl out over the bowl of warm water and placing it back on her head, she sighed. "Is she doing better?" Shaking her head, Kaede frowned. "I am afraid that Kagome has come down with a very high fever." Gasping, Sango eyed the young woman she saw as a younger sister. "Will she be okay?" "I do not know, my child. All we can do now is wait and see." Nodding and saying a small prey, the taiji slowly drifted off. *********************************************** I know that it's short, but tell me what you think. And thanks for reading.
