The bank was quiet today, as it usually was on a short Sunday morning. They closed at 1pm, which really meant they were almost free.
The door dinged and a shorter lady walked in. She wore just regular sensible black skirt to her knees and a flowy blouse with a bow tied at the front collar. Nothing special really.
Another gentleman walked in behind her, after having held the door open. He was much less unassuming. Quite tall, dastardly good looks and all the female tellers sighed in unison. His silky white hair practically shimmered in the overhead lights.
They proceeded sedately to a self service kiosk, first in queue. The girl gestured to it hesitantly as if she didn't know how to use it. Her companion prodded her along, not smiling but still encouraging.
She poked some buttons and tried to slide her card in. The machine beeped. She frowned. It beeped again. She looked pleasingly at a teller. It beeped more aggressively.
A snap. A crackle and a loud POP and the front of the machine sparked and smoke drizzled out the card slot.
Panicking the girl began flapping her arms in place and the man merely rubbed the bridge of his nose. The tellers, fully alarmed at this point, began screeching for security to do something.
And before anyone else could move, the other two self service kiosks spluttered and sparked. Money began flying out of the machines at a fantastic rate, covering the tables, floor and counters. A spark had unfortunately caught some bills on fire and the fire alarm was pulled subsequently
Promptly, everyone filed out and fire trucks could be heard in the distance. As the building was consumed, the girl still clung to her partner and sobbed.
"What did you do Kagome?"
"I don't know! It just beeped and then exploded!"
Someday, someone would realize that she could fry electronics. But today was not that day.
